Mr. Ramon Westbrooks

Ramon Westbrooks was born in Chicago, IL on May 2, 1961 to Van Lee and Boysie W. Westbrooks. Ramon accepted Christ at the age of 10 at Chicago Gospel Mission. Ramon attended Alice M. Birney grade school, Proviso East High School, received an Associate’s degree from Triton College and a Bachelor’s degree from Robert Morris College in Chicago. During Ramon’s early years, he played the bass guitar, modeled, and enjoyed drawing, football, riding horses, and swimming. Ramon’s passion for drawing and architecture lead him to his career field of mechanical engineering. Ramon always stated that he loved his career field because it never felt like he was actually working. Everyone who met Ramon knew that he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Ramon had Steelers jerseys, Steelers terrible towels, and belonged to several Steelers fan clubs. In 2005, Ramon met Kimberly Starnes and their lives were changed forever. On September 17, 2011, Ramon and Kimberly were married. During their marriage, Ramon and Kimberly enjoyed traveling with their daughters, bowling, and dancing. Being a music lover since childhood, Ramon enjoyed listening to all types of music and attending concerts with his wife and friends. Ramon was an active member of the One Million Conscious Black Voters and Contributors Movement in which he was a Georgia State Representative. Ramon enjoyed learning history as well as discussing current events; being a member of the One Million Conscious Black Voters and Contributors Movement allowed him to continue learning while meeting others with similar interests. Ramon passed away on March 18, 2017. Ramon was preceded in death by his mother, Van Lee Westbrooks, and sister LaTanya Westbrooks. He leaves his beloved wife Kimberly and daughters Ashleigh and Jayla. Ramon is also survived by his father Boysie Sr; sister Katrina; brother Andre and his wife Elaine; sister Gail; and brother Boysie Jr. Ramon also leaves to cherish his memory 11 nieces, 3 nephews, 10 great nieces, 9 great nephews, 2 aunts, and a host of many family members and very close friends. Memorial service for Mr. Ramon Westbrooks will be held Thursday March 30, 2017 11:00 AM at New Mercies Christian Church 4000 Five Forks Trickum Road SW Lilburn, GA 30047.
