Prometheus Bozeman

With heavy hearts and eternal love, we celebrate the life and legacy of Prometheus Bozeman, affectionately known to all as “Baldhead”—a nickname that reflected not only his signature smooth head but also the warmth, humor, and bold personality that made him unforgettable. Prometheus was born on February 18, 1979, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Sheila Mitchell and his surviving father, Herman Edwards. He was lovingly raised by his beautiful grandmother, the late Queen Bozeman, who not only adopted him but poured into him a lifetime of unconditional love, strength, and guidance. Their bond was one he cherished deeply throughout his life. Prometheus had an unbreakable and special relationship with his aunts and his children. He was a man who loved fiercely, protected proudly, and showed his affection in the most genuine ways—often through humor, storytelling, and his signature habit of “talking mess” to those he loved most. If Prometheus was teasing you, you knew you held a special place in his heart. He had an unshakable love for music, fast cars, traveling, and embracing new experiences. No matter where he went, Prometheus left an impression. He was the kind of man who could light up a room with laughter, spark deep conversation, and stand strong in the face of adversity. Prometheus was a proud member of Royal Priesthood International Ministries, where he found spiritual refuge and growth under the leadership of Apostle Cheryl Peeples. His love and admiration for his pastor were profound—describing their connection as one rooted in deep respect and unwavering loyalty. Throughout his life, Prometheus overcame many storms, including time spent in prison. However, his past did not define him. Instead, it shaped his passion for personal growth, redemption, and building a future filled with purpose. He earned the respect and admiration of many who witnessed his transformation and commitment to change. One of his proudest roles in life was being a devoted husband and father. In 2020, Prometheus met the love of his life, Aarazae, in what began as a whirlwind romance. Though their journey was not without trials, their bond was undeniable. On July 14, 2023, they stood before God and committed themselves to one another in love and unity. Together, they built a beautiful life—traveling across the country, laughing endlessly, and creating unforgettable memories. Prometheus embraced fatherhood with his whole heart. He was a protector, provider, and nurturer to the children he chose to call his own. To him, there was no “step” in family—London, Kendrick, and Royalty were his children, through and through. He raised them with patience, love, discipline, and pride. Their bond was deep, and his legacy will live on in their hearts forever. He is survived by his loving wife, Aarazae Bozeman (29), and his cherished children: London Jalloh (12), Kendrick Hillsman (7), and Royalty Hillsman (5). He also leaves behind his devoted father, Herman Edwards (70), and his siblings: Quiones Bozeman (44), Jermaine Edwards (42), Prince Edwards (45), Duane Brown (45), Shauna Budd (34), and Sharly Scannell (29). He was a proud uncle to many, including his precious niece, Jaceara Edwards (8). Prometheus’s love extended to a village of family and friends, including his beloved aunts: Patricia Martin, Venus Jordan, Gretchen Mitchell, Caroline Mitchell, and many more. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends who will miss his jokes, his loyalty, his advice, and the way he made everyone feel seen and loved. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the spirit of Prometheus Bozeman lives on—in every laugh shared, every memory held, and in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Rest well, Baldhead. You were truly one of a kind. The Celebration of Life Service for Prometheus Bozeman will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
