Precious Mae Ramsey

Obituary Evangelist Precious Ramsey was born on December 17, 1931, to the late William Earl Moore and Rosa Lee Keith. She had one brother who preceded her in death, Leo Keith. She was educated in the Atlanta public school system, graduating from David T. Howard High School. Precious and her late husband, Charlie Brooks, were blessed with five children, Willie, the late Charlie, Diane, Bennie, and Michael. Precious was employed by the State of Georgia where she retired after 30 years of faithful service. Precious received Christ at an early age. She was a faithful servant of God. She was a member of The Allen Gospel Singers traveling near and far to sing of his praises. She was one of many singers that sang on the radio station WAOK Atlanta, singing with the likes of Shirley Ceasar, Dorothy Norwood, and so many more. Precious and her late husband, Reverend Carl Ramsey, was led by God to start a church ministry which they named Faith Deliverance Holiness Church. They started in the basement of their home which they soon outgrew and later moved to their permanent location at 471 Morgan Place, Decatur, Georgia 30334. Many souls were saved. Several ministers and ministries were born under the leadership of Faith Deliverance. After the death of her husband, Bishop Ramsey, she continued the ministry becoming the Overseer. When she was no longer able to oversee the operations of the church, she closed the doors and began attending Beulah Missionary Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until her health declined. Precious was fondly called by her members “Mother Ramsey.” She was a caring and giving person to all. It was nothing for her to take the homeless into her home. She was of financial assistance to so many, feeding and clothing the homeless and so much more. She had a love for God, an open heart, and a big smile while continuously giving of herself. She will be missed by all. Precious leaves to mourn her memories: her four children, Willie Lee Brooks (Willemina), Priscilla Diane Moody (Eddie), Bennie Lee Brooks, and Michael Lee Brooks; eight grandchildren, Dameion, Amber, Tavarus, Nicholas, Sydney, Shanay, Tina, and Shomari; ten great-grandchildren, Synquae, Xi’Marie, Xavier, Alayasia, Zaire, Khalil, Sin’Cere, Bruce, Edward, and Azariah; loving sister-in-law, Gladys Frazier; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family, and friends. Homegoing Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 11 a.m. at St. John Apostolic Holiness Church 1903 Clark Drive Tucker, GA 30084. Interment Southview Cemetery.
