Patrick Barrington Jones

Patrick Barrington Jones, age 62, affectionately known as “Skellion”, was born on October 4, 1963, in Banbury District, Westmoreland, Jamaica. Patrick was the beloved son of Lloyd Jones and Zelpha Hawkins. As a young man, he would embrace the Rastafarian movement, following their teachings and beliefs, which included the philosophy of One Love, One Heart, One Destiny. He lived a holistic lifestyle rooted in spirituality, love and harmony. Patrick migrated to The United States in January 1983 and resided in the Bronx, New York. He worked as a floor technician installing and refinishing hardwood floors. Patrick and Linda first met as close friends. Over time, their friendship blossomed into a loving courtship. Linda relocated to Georgia to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. Soon afterward, Patrick joined Linda, and together they continued their relationship. Patrick continued his career as a floor technician. He then met his cousin, Lorna King, who owned a flooring business in Roswell, Georgia. Patrick eventually branched out to pursue his ultimate passion, cooking. He opened a restaurant called “Jamdown Cafe”. This is where his love shines through, he was an excellent home trained cook. He learned and honed his cooking skills in his grandmother Mary Banhan’s kitchen. Patrick loved cooking and his dishes were scrumptious. Patrick and Linda were united in marriage and began building a life together filled with love, faith and family. Patrick was the proud father of six children: MarQuish Jones, Theo Jones, Brittany Jones, Timothy Jones, Patrice Jones and Thomas Jones. Patrick leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Linda; his beloved mother, Zelpha; his siblings, Lance and Kirk Jones; his 6 children; his 5 grandchildren; his nieces and nephews and ; his Aunts Reedy, Vesta and Pansy, many cousins, and friends. Patrick was a believer in Jesus Christ. His home going was truly unexpected to us as a family, we are lost for words but grateful to each and everyone who showed Love to Patrick‘s memory in words and deeds. If Patrick could say anything, it would be to love one another, take those trips, make those memories and live life to the fullest. Patrick was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mary Banhan, his father Lloyd Jones, and his maternal grandmother Elvelena Blake and paternal Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Thank You for the memories, the love, and the laughter you shared with us. Until we meet again, you will forever remain in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
