Mrs. Patricia Ann Haynes- Johnson

Mrs. Patricia Ann Haynes Johnson, born and raised in Orangeburg, SC, was the daughter of the late Reverend Charlie Haynes & Janie Goodley Haynes. She was born April 03, 1954, departed this life August 05, 2024. Mrs. Johnson attended the public schools of Orangeburg, South Carolina and graduated from Orangeburg Wilkinson in 1972. She graduated from South Carolina State University in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree in history. She joined St. James Church of God and gave her life to Christ at an early age (16) and continued to live steadfast for God until her passing. Our dear and beloved Patricia was a beautiful soul whose unwavering faith and strength touched the lives of all who knew her. A devoted prayer warrior, she embraced life with courage, embodying grace and kindness in every moment. Her well-organized and strategic mind and remarkable sense of order brought clarity and comfort to those around her, inspiring countless individuals to face challenges with resilience and hope. Mrs. Johnson had a unique gift for uplifting others, always finding the right words to offer encouragement and support. Her legacy of love, faith, and determination will forever resonate in our hearts, reminding us to live with purpose and compassion. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us on our journeys. Mrs. Johnson was strength, encouragement, joy, peace, compassion, wisdom, intelligent, smart, beautiful, and was so SPIRITUAL. She was a PRAYING WOMAN. She was a PRAYER WARRIOR like no other. SHE SERVED GOD with her LIFE! To GOD be all the GLORY! She was a mother to many of her nieces and nephews. She touched so many lives to include the many children she babysat and kept for so many years in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Mrs. Johson’s career expanded several industries to include human services, customer services, and public education for over 45 years where she retired from education in 2023 from the Dekalb County Public School System of Dekalb County, Georgia. Her passion for serving others transcended the Orangeburg & Bamberg County Disability and Special Needs Board for years, Catherine Carr Residential Home Services, Respite Care as a Therapeutic Foster Parent Mentor; Paraprofessional for the Orangeburg County School District; Paraprofessional & Special Education Instructional Teacher for the Dekalb County School District in Dekalb County, Georgia. Patricia could sing and sing and sing some more. One of her masterpieces, was “God Can” by Doroty Norwood. In her service to God and her beloved church community, she served as President of the St. James Senior Choir for years until moving to Stone Mountain, Georgia where she was a faithful steward of the Greater St. Paul Church of God in Christ in Lithonia, Georgia. Mrs. Johnson loved to travel and lived in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Dallas, Texas and Jacksonville, Florida. She relocated to Stone Mountain, Georgia in 2004 where she settled down until her passing. Mrs. Johnson married the love of her life Mr. Arodoundar Johnson on April 24, 1993, and had 31 beautiful years of marriage. To this union they have four daughters, Altricia Green (Columbia, SC); Herlita Johnson (Norcross, Georgia); Maria (Michael) Johnson (Lithonia, Georgia); and one daughter that preceded her in death, Alzina Johnson. She was preceded in death by: Reverend Charlie Haynes (father); Mrs. Janie B. Goodley Haynes (mother); Janet Haynes Mintz (sister); Charles Haynes (brother); and John Pierre Hull (grandnephew). One sister; Mrs. Harriette Louise Haynes (John) Glover of Snellville, GA and one brother; Mr. Clyde (Rebecca) Haynes of Orangeburg, SC. One aunt, Ms. Alice Haynes Ross of Jacksonville, Florida. Thirteen (13) grandchildren: Brandyn and Aaron Weston, Sean Stevens, (Columbia, SC); Dijon and Sean Jones, Darren Junior, Miya, Cayden, and Haeyden Jackson all of Norcorss, Georgia; Emmanual Johson, Seth Baker, Makayla and Messiah Thomas, all of Lithonia, Georgia Nieces and Nephews: John Glover, Jason (Shelia) Glover, Pamela (Frank) Glover-Cain, Dr. Celestial Haynes-Price (Earl) Davis, Angela D. Mintz, Rongerald (LaKeisha) Haynes, Corey Haynes, Tasha Haynes all of Orangeburg, SC. Special nieces she helped raised Candice Mintz, Earl J. Davis Jr., Myrical J. Mintz, and Jordan J. Davis, all of Orangeburg, SC and Shayquell Kiera Mitchell of Columbia, SC. She also leaves a special host of other grand nieces, nephews, and friends. As we celebrate her life, let us remember her beautiful prayers and the profound impact she had on our lives. May we carry forward her legacy of FAITH in GOD, LOVE for OTHERS, and strength and faith, honoring her memory through our own acts of love and kindness. Pray without ceasing!
