Oscar James Lee

Mr. Oscar James Lee was born on March 17, 1945 to the late Jethro and Dottie (Lee). A lifelong resident of Lanett Alabama, who’s physical battles have yielded to eternal rewards, transitioned from this life to heavenly rest on Wednesday April 8, 2020 while under the care of his team of physicians at Manor Care Marietta, GA. Oscar married his high school sweetheart Jenell (Edwards-Winston) in March of 1973 and together they raised their boys Michael and Lorenzo Gonzalez with a watchful eye, loving hearts and with guidance to honor and serve Christ Jesus. Oscar and Jenell’s quiver grew from their seed, who bore them 4 grandchildren through their unions, Michael from Linda, (Michael II & Elena Gonzalez) Lorenzo from Geri, (Loren & Evan Gonzalez). Oscar found a saving relationship with Jesus Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of the Goodsell United Methodist Church in Lanett, Alabama. He served faithfully in the Methodist-Men, a member of the male chorus and as a Trustee of the ministry. He served faithfully until the failing health of his wife and subsequently his own wouldn’t allow for active attendance. Oscar was a world-class debater of local and national politics and avid reader and for years enjoyed the outdoors as a sports fisherman and hunter. He was a “tinkerer” by nature and was employed for 31 years as senior machinist and supervisor at WestPoint Pepperell. In addition to his son’s Michael-Windsor, CT and Lorenzo-Duluth, GA and their families, he leaves to cherish his memory his brother Jethro Jr. (Betty)-Mitchellville, MD; Ronald (Mary) Talbotton, GA; and Melvin Lee -Valley, AL. His sister-in-law Sylvia Winston (the late Samuel) cousins, nieces and nephew’s scores of relatives and friends. His transition is also mourned by a childhood friend of his boys (Robert Brock, Hogansville, GA (Gwendolyn) their children, who Oscar loved as a son. Oscar was preceded in death by the love of his life his wife of 43 years Jenell Lee, Father and Mother Jethro Sr. and Dottie and brother Mark Anthony Lee. They’re all reunited and are celebrating the triumph of the Lord.
