Mrs. Daisy Edmondson Tucker

Funeral Services for Mrs. Daisy Tucker will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012, 1PM at Evergreen Baptist Church, 303 4th Ave., Decatur, GA. Her remains will lie in state at 12NOON until the hour of service. Interment at Kennedy Memorial Gardens. Visitation Friday 9AM-9PM with wake from 7PM-8PM at Gregory B. Levett & Sons, Funeral Home, 4347 Flat Shoals Pkwy, Decatur, GA., 30034. ______________________ Daisy E. Tucker, a loving devoted mother, faithful servant, God-fearing woman, hard worker, warm hearted, soft spoken and a child of God; was born April 24, 1938 in Monticello, Georgia, to the late Leonard and Frieda Alexander. Daisy was one of six siblings. Two of her siblings preceded her in death; William Alexander, and Minnie Phillips Daisy joined Liberty Hill Baptist Church at an early age and later moved her membership to Evergreen Baptist Church where she served as the Usher Coordinator and also served on the Hospitality Ministry. She was married on September 14, 1990 to Raymond Tucker. She was the proud mother of six children and three step-children. Her immense love for her children was demonstrated through her selfless devotion of service, guidance, and support to each of them. She taught them values, respect, responsibilities, cleanliness, to love one another, and how to be the best that they could be, no matter how much or little they had in life. Daisy touched so many lives during her lifetime. Her graceful smile, the warmth of her personality and her compassion for people was exhibited in her daily walk. Her light will forever shine in our hearts. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, /Raymond Tucker and six children; Frieda (Lee), John (Marcia), Carl, Michelle (Gerard), Marvin (Jackie), and Milver; three step-children, Oneida, Janerro, and Raymond; a devoted sister, Ruth Alexander-Rice; and devoted brothers, Leonard Alexander (Emily), James Alexander (Dorothy). She was loved by 23 grand children, 14 great grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and a special nephew Donald. ___________________________________________ “To Those I Love” When I am gone, just release me, let me go… So I can move into my afterglow You mustn’t tie me down with your tears; Let’s be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness I thank you for the love you each have shown But now it’s time I traveled alone. So grieve for me awhile, if you must, Then let your grief be comforted with trust. It’s only for a while that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart. And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile and a “Welcome Home”.
