Michael Jonathan Morgan II

Michael Jonathan Morgan II was born to this Earth on Tuesday, June, 23rd 2009 to Michael Morgan Sr. and Shenique Whymns-Morgan. Michael was the second son of Michael Morgan Sr. and his mother’s only child. The family resided together for most of Michael II’s life in Lawrenceville, GA. Michael II started to excel early in life. As a small child, Michael began learning to read and write before 18 months old and showed keen interest in learning new skills. Shortly after beginning pre-school at 3 years old, Michael began participating in youth soccer at the J. M. Tull YMCA on Sugarloaf Hwy in Lawrenceville where he went on to play for 7 seasons. Michael enjoyed being part of the team and always tried his best. Michael later started TaeKwon Do at the Kyung Hee TaeKwon Do martial arts school in Grayson, GA and was just one belt shy of achieving his Black Belt in the art. In school, Michael achieved honors year after year earning himself placement in Gifted Student classes which he was happy and proud of. He made the Principal’s List and Honor Roll throughout elementary school at Simonton Elementary and started on the same path at Couch Middle school. Michael made his schoolwork a priority and embodied his school’s motto to Learn, Lead and Excel. Michael loved to learn and participate in school driven activities. Michael was part of the Simonton School Chorus where he got to perform with students a community events including the Gwinnett County Public Schools Board of Education meeting in April 2019 and the Gwinnett County Courthouse Christmas Celebration in December 2019. Michael also contributed to his school’s media team and was a PTA volunteer on many occasions along side his Mom. Michael also sang with the New Mercies children’s choir and enjoyed learning about the love of God in the Children’s Church Youth Ministry. Outside of school and sports Michael had a love for gaming. He enjoyed playing his most recent favorite Roblox on his computer. Michael’s ambition was to become a Computer Scientist and he had already begun learning to code. Michael loved to laugh, had an amazing sense of humor, was humble and helpful. Michael came to know God through his time spent in church and daily evening devotions with him Mom at home. Michael passed away on the night of June 2nd 2021 after being hit by a motor vehicle while crossing a 6 lane intersection bike riding with his father and brother on Grayson Hwy and Web Ginn House Rd. Michael was resuscitated twice by the doctors at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston Hospital but was called home to be with his Heavenly Father. We are relieved that Michael now resides with the Angels. In Michael’s 11 years with us he demonstrated that it was indeed possible to be smart, be kind and know how to have fun. His warm smile, caring heart, loving spirit, quick wit and contagious laugh will be missed by his Mother and Father; siblings; brother Kymani Corbitt and sister Mikaela Morgan. Grand Parents; Hyacynith and Denroy Morgan, Beverley Addreley and Fabian Whymns; Aunts; Alayna Johnson, Jody Whymns, Janet, Bridget, Paulette, Judith, Una, Yvette, Sandra, Takilot, Miriam, Taliba, Tafiyah, Rebecca, Saridia Uncles; Junior, Jeffrey, David, Peter, Roy, Nakamyah, Otiyah, Memo, Noshyah, Selayah, Nasiach, Emmanuel, Allelu, Mattanyah, Michael. God-parents; Numerous Cousins residing throughout the US, the Bahamas and Jamaica. And many classmates, friends and teammates Celebration of Life Services for Michael Morgan II will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 3:00PM. These services will be recorded and streamed live.
