Mary E. Outerbridge

Mary Ellen Outerbridge (Williams) was born in Harlem, NY to Josephus Williams and Standola Boston on June 24, 1930. During her elementary school years, Mary and her family moved to Bronx, New York where she later attended Morris High School. At the tender age of 13, Mary met, and later married, the love of her life, Earl Charles Outerbridge, Sr. They were married 52 years before his passing in 2007. During their marriage, they gained a son who loved and took care of them both prior to their passing. Mary worked as a case worker for the welfare department in Queens, NY for many years before retiring in 1988. In 1989, Earl, Sr. and Mary relocated to a place they never thought they would ever live…Stone Mountain, GA. They bought a house and Mary enjoyed her 34 years of retirement until she departed that home for a better one on January 28, 2022. Preceding her in her departure were both her parents, her loving husband, and a God-given daughter, Dr. BJ Staggs of Spartanburg, SC. She leaves to cherish the life she lived, her loving and devoted son, Earl Outerbridge, Jr and his equally loving and devoted wife, Tawana of Stone Mountain, GA, three grandchildren: Joshua Outerbridge and Tatyana Vick of Stone Mountain, GA and Drarodrick Candidate of Fitzgerald, GA, two beautiful great-grandchildren: Jaselle and Drarodrick Candidate, Jr, of Jamaica, NY. She also leaves to mourn two bonus sons: Greg “Clyde '' Fleming of Jamaica, NY and Anthony (Joyce) Hall of Snellville, GA, her niece/god-daughters, Cheryl Morrow of Bronx, NY and Lauren Williams of Harlem, NY. Two brothers-in-law: Robert Tate and Robert Outerbridge, nephews: Tyrone, Derrick, Donald, Russell and Tommy, nieces: Cathy and Laura, and a host of family and friends. Celebration of Life Services for Mary Outerbridge will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2:00PM. These services will be recorded and streamed live.
