Martha Velma Tarlue

Martha Velma (Zinnah) Moulton Tarlue Sunrise – November 22nd, 1941 – Sundown – September 15th, 2022 John 14:1-3 says, "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." Martha Velma (Zinnah) Moulton Tarlue, at age 80, of Virginia, Liberia, arrived in Atlanta, Georgia, in September 2001, and left Emory Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia, Thursday, September 15, 2022, with family at her side, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to the room He had prepared for her, her loving parents, Robert B. and Nellie Jean Moulton, daughter Ettie Mulbah, and siblings. Aunt Martha was born on November 22, 1941, in Virginia, Liberia, West Africa, the daughter of Robert and Nellie Jean Moulton. She enjoyed a very private life with her siblings and friends in her earlier years. Aunt Martha graduated from the Lott Carey Baptist Mission School in Brewerville, Liberia, and earned a diploma in finance from Monrovia College, Liberia. Aunt Martha spent many years as the Commissioner in the Income Tax Division, Ministry of Finance, Republic of Liberia. After arriving in the United States, she earned a Child Care and Nursery certificate. She enjoyed being with her children, husband, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a true disciple of Jesus Christ. A conversation was never complete without mentioning, “God’s there!” Let’s pray!’’ and “God’s in control because we’re covered in His blood.” She loved to decorate for the holidays and spend time with her family and friends. Aunt Martha was an avid reader and enjoyed learning, spending time studying the Word of God, cleaning, cooking, and baking. She and her entire family were members of Shiloh Baptist Church, in Virginia, Liberia. She was affiliated with the Church of the Lord Alladura and the United Methodist Church. Aunt Martha was preceded in death by her daughter Ettie Mulbah. She is survived by her husband, George Tarlue Sr., and her children Rev. François Theo (Ellen) Russell., Randolph, Wisconsin, Rev. Dr. Eric C. K. (Maima) Whisnant Sr., Trenton, New Jersey, Nettie (Olive Wesley) Sieh, Buffalo, New York, Valerie Sieh (Alexander J.) Brooks, Monrovia, Liberia, Joyce K. (Emmanuel Fasu) Leigh, and step-children George Tarlue, Jr., Grace Tarlue, Comfort Tarlue, Farley Tarlue, Alex Tarlue, Susanna Tarlue. Aunt Martha is survived by her grandnieces and nephews: Nellie Currens, Robbi Currens, Charles Capehart, Charlyn Capehart, Jorenda David, Lovest, Olu, and a host of nieces and nephews and relatives in America, Europe, and Africa. Our family would like to sincerely thank everyone who has expressed love and support for us during this difficult time. To our dearest Aunt Martha, and Cousin Martha, you are so loved and will be deeply missed. May her soul Rest-In-Peace.
