Martha Glover Sampson

Martha Ann Sampson 1954–2024 Martha Ann dedicated herself wholeheartedly to caring for others, showing empathy and compassion in her role as a caregiver. Outside of her professional life, she found joy in the simple pleasures of shopping for new items and dressing up in stylish outfits, perhaps as a way to express her creativity and individuality. Despite her busy schedule, she always made time for her loved ones, valuing the bond she shared with her family and friends above all else. They were her pillars of support, her source of laughter and comfort, and she treasured every moment spent with them, knowing that they held an irreplaceable place in her heart. Martha Ann Sampson, 69, of Jeffersonville, Georgia, died peacefully at home in Stone Mountain, Georgia on March 28th, 2024. She was born in Jeffersonville Georgia in 1954 to Essline Bond & Richard “Dick” Glover. Martha Ann attended Twiggs County High school, before going to work in the customer service industry. She transitioned to a new career aligned with her passion for caring for others, finding profound fulfillment in her role and newfound extended family. Martha Ann grew up with the love of her life, Nelson Sampson in Jeffersonville Georgia. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married 1973 in Dry Branch Georgia. Martha Ann and Nelson couldn’t wait to start a family of their own, and their son meant the world to them. Travis Sampson was born September 1979. Though she loved caring for others, cooking, and shopping, Martha Ann’s favorite role was that as a grandmother. She treasured her time with her grandson and loved being his Grandma Sampson, never failing to teach him new recipes or support him with school. Martha Ann had a soft spot for her furry friends, treating each and every one like the valuable family member they were. To know her meant to know that her favorite little girl Lucy was her best friend. Martha Ann and her friends were practically inseparable throughout their lives. From riding around and shopping to cooking and going to church, they were together through it all. Martha Ann was passionate about her role as caregiver in Warner Robins Georgia. Whether working for herself or through a company she dedicated over 20 of years of service, caring for others as she would her own family. Martha Ann was an active member of William Chapel CME Church, devoting her time and energy to praise and worship. Everyone who knew Martha Ann knew how much she loved southern cooking & shopping. She always had to make sure she took full advantage of that Belk’s or Kohl’s coupon. She loved to share her recipes with her son, daughter and grandson. She was well known for her BBQ, cornbread dressing, German chocolate cake & banana pudding. Martha Ann will always be remembered for her spunky attitude and the way that she always dressed to impress. We’ll always imagine hearing her say “I am the captain of this ship and it’s only one member in my crew” one more time. We couldn’t have asked for a better wife, mother, grandmother, sister or friend and will miss Martha Ann every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. Martha Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband Nelson Sampson and mother Essline Bond. Martha Ann is survived by her father Richard “Dick” Glover. Her loving son Travis Sampson, grandson Jayvin, daughter Leah, and God daughter Tiateeauna (TT) Robinson. Her sisters and brothers Earline Smith, Samuel (Betty Mae) Smith III, Patrick “Pat” (Karen) Bond, Lee Patrick (Ella) Glover, Elissa Glover-Lockett (Wayne), LeTisha Glover-Tharpe (Xavier), Doris Mallory-King, and Rebecca Bond. Along with a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Celebration of life for Martha Ann Sampson will be April 6th, 2024, at 9:30am at 351 N. Clarendon Ave. Scottdale GA, 30079 Gregory B.
