Mark Anthony Bethel

Mark Anthony Bethel was born to Dorette Sutton and Sidney Bethel on April 18th, 1971 in New Providence, Nassau, Bahamas. He was raised in Moy Hall District, St. James, Jamaica. He was the youngest of seven children. Mark attended Anchovy Primary and Anchovy High School in St. James. As a child, Mark was friendly, loyal, and determined. He is survived by two brothers: Walter Wynter and Dave Watt; and four sisters: Jennis Watt, Edris Peterkin, Mitsy Watt, and Sharline Hinds. He is also survived by six children – Markino, Nicoy, Skyler, Summer, Dylan, and Ashe. Mark migrated to the United States in 2001 where he resided in New York until his move to Georgia in 2021. Mark worked in the restaurant industry for the majority of his life taking on roles such as bartender and cook during his time. His affinity for bringing people together over a meal, holiday, and music was like no other. Mark was often charged with making the mac and cheese, manning the grill, baking fruit cake with his mother, and mixing the rum punch. He was always ready for a good time, a laugh, and a chance to get in the kitchen. Mark was deeply caring of his friends and family, especially his mother whom he loved dearly. You could always hear him enter the house with a big greeting for her and everyone else who held him close. He was easy to love and befriended everyone who met him. Mark loved the young people in his life including his nieces and nephews who he always made space for – sometimes even at work. His joyous spirit, infectious energy, and vibrance for life will be missed by all who knew him. Mark Anthony Bethel departed on April 29th, 2024. In addition to leaving behind his mother, siblings, and children, he leaves behind countless nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, other family, and friends. Celebration of Life Service (LIVESTREAM) will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 1:00 pm in our Chapel. Interment Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
