Marcello Shawn-Lee Joseph

Marcello Shawn-Lee Joseph was born on May 17, 2002, to Alberte Volmy and Joe Joseph at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Georgia. He was born in the evening, weighing nearly nine pounds, which lovingly earned him the nickname “Fatty.” From the very beginning, Marcello was a beautiful baby with an infectious smile that could light up any room. Marcello is survived by his mother, Alberte, and his father, Joe Joseph. He was a loving and incredible brother, especially to his youngest brother, Denzel Fontaine, whom he proudly called his best friend. He was also a cherished uncle and held a special place in the hearts of his family. Marcello was a student at South University and was only one year away from completing his degree. He dreamed of entering the medical field and becoming a doctor. He had a deep passion for helping those who were sick and believed wholeheartedly that one day he could be part of finding a cure for sickle cell disease. His compassion for others was not just a dream, but something he lived out daily. He was also employed at Parker Project, where he worked with children battling cancer. Even while facing pain of his own, Marcello continued to press forward to be a source of support and encouragement to those children. That was the kind of person Marcello was, selfless, determined, and full of heart. Marcello also had a passion for fitness. Going to the gym was more than a hobby for him; it was something he truly enjoyed and made a regular part of his life. Although our hearts are deeply filled with sorrow over this tremendous loss, we take comfort in remembering how much Marcelo loved the Lord and how he lived by His word. Marcello was kind, loving, compassionate, and always willing to help others.
