Luis Antonio Torres

Reflections of Life LUIS ANTONIO TORRES entered God’s eternal care on August 29th, 2025. Luis was born on December 1st, 1966, to Carmen Luz Rivera Torres and Victor Luis Torres in New Britain, Connecticut. Luis grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut where he spent most of his childhood. He was intellectually gifted and excelled in his studies. Luis was educated at W.F. Kaynor Technical High School in Waterbury, Connecticut where he studied electronics. He graduated at the top of his class, serving as salutatorian and a valued member of the National Honor Society. He served honorably in the United States Navy, specializing in electronic equipment repair. Luis had a natural gift for carpentry and worked with his brother Victor and cousin Alvin to construct homes in Connecticut. Luis met Mashama, the love of his life while in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1987, and they married on September 18, 1993. Together they enjoyed 31 years of marriage, creating unforgettable memories traveling the world, visiting places like Aruba, Dubai, Malta, St. Martin, Hawaii, Spain and countless other destinations. Luis loved the Lord with all his heart, soul and mind. He was a faithful Christian who put God first in all aspects of his life. He was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost in Waterbury, Connecticut at Pentecostal Assembly church, where he served as the President of the Brotherhood auxiliary, a Trustee and a member of the Brotherhood choir. After relocating to Atlanta, he became a dedicated member of the Greater Bethlehem Temple Church of Atlanta, where he served as head of the Deacon Board and a Trustee. Luis formed lifelong bonds with many church members, whom he came to consider part of his extended family. In 2001, Luis responded to the call of the Lord and joined Connect Point Christian Church. He faithfully served as Church Administrator, Trustee, and Media Director, dedicating himself fully to the work of the Lord. Often the first to arrive and the last to leave. He formed deep bonds with many church members, whom he came to cherish not just as friends, but as family. Luis spent several years in corporate America, spanning from management to IT. Inspired by his entrepreneurial spirit, he became both a licensed Realtor and travel agent. Pursuing his passions with joy and dedication, his work never felt like work. Luis was an affectionate family man, and the best father ever!!! When his daughter Ahjaé was born on August 5th, 2006, nothing mattered more to Luis than to be her father. He looked forward to creating cherished memories every day. He never missed a basketball game or a karate lesson and often surprised her at school for special lunch dates. He served on PTA committees, volunteered as a school chaperone, attended countless field trips, combed her hair and drove her to and from school until she could drive herself. He shared his love of football with his daughter, educating her in the game so she could be his favorite watching partner. He taught her everything he knew about sports, especially football. He treasured every moment of fatherhood and loved his baby girl to the moon and back. His devotion to his entire family was unwavering, and he always sought to bring them joy. Luis loved sports. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, New York Yankees and again we say Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, watching movies and spending quality time with family and friends. His favorite color was Dallas Cowboys. Luis’s life was a testimony of unwavering faith and strength. Though he fought a long and difficult battle with liver disease, he never complained. He trusted God through every storm and praised him every step of the way. His courage and hope inspired countless people, reminding all who knew him; that with God all things are possible. His journey became a living testimony of God’s miraculous power. Luis himself became a miracle for others to see. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and inspiration that will continue to touch lives for years to come. Luis will forever be etched in our hearts. A testament to his love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and faith. He is preceded in death by his mother Carmen Luz Rivera Torres. Luis leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife Mashama Torres, beloved baby girl Ahjaé Torres, Father Victor Luis Torres from Massachusetts, two brothers Victor Torres from Georgia, Dimitrios Torres (Christina) from Connecticut, 1 sister Judy Bermudez from Massachusetts, Mother-In-Law Willette Henley from Connecticut, Sister-In-Law Gloria Henley from Connecticut whose compassionate care was a blessing in his life, Sister-In-Law Carrie Jackson (Cissie) from Connecticut, Brother-In-Law Luke Temple from Connecticut, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, God Children, church family, and friends who became family. Dallas Cowboys attire or the Dallas Cowboys colors (blue, white, and grey) are encouraged to help create the atmosphere Luis wanted.
