It’s with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Mrs. Louise Howard. Who departed this life on Sunday August 7, 2022. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 12-8pm at our South Dekalb Chapel. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Gregory B Levett South Dekalb Chapel. Due to COVID-19, a mask will be required to enter our building. Maxwell. She married George Howard Jr. on January 10, 1967. From this union they raised a son Mark Howard and had two children Christopher and Carla Howard. Louise Howard fell asleep in death on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Laurel Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Stockbridge, Georgia. Louise attended Thompkins High School in Savannah, Georgia. She worked as a Nurses Aid at Xavier Nursing home in Savannah, Georgia and later as a domestic for over 30 years, where she retired in 1996 in this profession. She really had a great love for people and had a way of showing genuine love and concern for all that she met. Her daughter-in-law gave her the nickname; “Sweetie” as a result of her being so kind and nice to others. She took on a great responsibility while just a teenager by taking on a mothers’ role by attending to her siblings and cousin while their mother went to work in Miami, Florida for six years. Louise enjoyed cooking and spending time with family while having lively, humorous conversations! She respected the Bible and enjoyed its teachings and briefly studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. Louise is survived by her husband of 55 years, George Howard Jr., son Christopher (Sybil) Howard, daughter Carla Breedlove, grandson Quinn Breedlove, granddaughters Cydney Breedlove, Jordynn Breedlove, and April Breedlove. Her brothers Joe (Leonarda) Maxwell Jr., Robert Maxwell, sister Joanne (David) Jackson, nieces Susette Bullock, Yvette Maxwell, Donsha Jackson and cousins Wanda Letbetter, Shawntrell Letbetter, Angela Buchanan, and other family members and a host of friends. Louise was preceded in death by her mother Julia J. Maxwell, son Mark Howard, brother John Brown Jr., sister-in-law Masako Maxwell, nephews Robert Maxwell and David Jackson. Louise will be remembered for her warm love for other people and being approachable to talk to by both family and friends.
