In Loving Memory of Linda Ann Carter: A Life Defined by Grace, Strength, and Compassion It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Ann Carter, who peacefully departed this world on September 14, 2024 at the age of 72 surrounded by her family that she cherished so dearly. Born on August 27,1952 in Houston,Texas, Linda was a woman of quiet strength, immense compassion, and unwavering grace, leaving a legacy of kindness that touched the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. To know Linda was to love her. She had a way of making everyone feel special, whether it was through her effervescent and warm smile, comforting words or acts of kindness that touched so many lives. Linda was known for her remarkable character—humble, thoughtful, and always putting others before herself. Whether in her professional career or in her personal relationships, she led with her heart, ensuring that everyone she encountered felt seen, valued, and loved. She lived by the philosophy that a person’s worth is not measured by material success, but by the positive impact they leave on the lives of others, and Linda truly embodied that belief. After earning her degree in Marketing from Texas Southern University, Linda went on to build a successful career in real estate. Her work with Fox and Jacobs Homebuilders and Morrison Homebuilders showcased her dedication and expertise. Yet, it was not her professional accolades that defined her, but rather the way she treated people—with respect, patience, and a listening ear. Her colleagues admired her for her ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, always approaching problems with a sense of resolve and fairness. Linda’s ability to lead by example and her knack for uplifting others made her a true inspiration. Beyond her work, Linda was most proud of the relationships she cultivated. She was a devoted wife to John Q. Carter, and a loving mother to Bianca and Jonathan Carter. Her family meant everything to her, and she was the heartbeat of every gathering, offering her support and wisdom to those who needed it most. Family and friends will forever remember her for her outgoing and vibrant personality, gentle hugs, cheerful laughter, and the simple joys she found in life—whether it was taking pictures, traveling or enjoying quiet moments with loved ones. Linda had a remarkable talent for bringing out the best in others and making them feel truly appreciated. Whether through a quick phone call, a heartfelt note, or a thoughtful gesture, she always showed how much people mattered to her. Her greatest happiness came from spreading love. Linda was the type of person who left you feeling better than she found you—whether by offering words of encouragement, extending a helping hand, or simply being a steady, reassuring presence. Linda listened with care, spoke with intention, and gave her time freely, always eager to brighten someone’s day. She believed in the power of hard work and kindness, and her consistent acts of compassion brought a little more light to the world each day. Her personal accomplishments were many, but they were always marked by humility. She never sought recognition for the good she did, she did it because she cared, because she believed in leaving a positive impact on those around her. Although Linda encountered challenges of her own, she never allowed them to diminish her spirit or determination. Her signature red lips and flawless sense of style reflected her outward elegance and confidence, but it was her inner strength and generosity that truly defined her. She faced life’s obstacles with grace, always believing that love and perseverance were the keys to moving forward. Those closest to her admired the dignity, strength, and unwavering positivity with which she navigated life, no matter the circumstances. Beyond her career, Linda was also dedicated to doing volunteer work for various charities, providing community service, and mentoring. She worked tirelessly to uplift and build those around her and make a meaningful impact on both her community and the causes she supported. She was particularly proud of establishing her own real estate broker business, Linda Carter Properties in Houston ,Texas and serving as the Superior Court Clerk of DeKalb County, Georgia which brought joy and fulfillment to her later years. Linda exemplified the heights that hard work and determination can help you achieve in life. Preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Clara Page, Linda is survived by her husband, John Q. Carter; her children, Bianca Carter and Jonathan Carter; her sisters, Sheila Page and Yvette Page; her brothers, Michael Page, Henry Page Jr., and Daryl Page; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends and loved ones who will continue to cherish the memories of the love and guidance she gave throughout her life. She was also a soon to be grandmother to her first grandchild, Capri Fluellen, who will come to know the remarkable woman Linda was through the stories, memories and love shared by those who knew her best. Though Linda is no longer with us in person, her spirit——overflowing with compassion, resilience, and endless love—will continue to live on in all who knew her. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. May she rest in peace.
