Lillie Mary Allen

Lillie M Allen was born in Greenwood, (Minner City), Mississippi on July 4, 1927. Lillie Mary Allen the daughter of Emanuel & Pinkie Washington. She was seven out of ten children. Lillie accepted Jesus Christ at a young age under the guidance of her father, who was an Assistance Pastor at Independent Baptist Church in Chicago Illinois. In 1951 Lillie entered into holy matrimony with Robert Allen and to this union Barbara Jean Hayes was born. Robert and Lillie moved from Mississippi to Saint Louis, Missouri in 1952. Lillie moved from Saint Louis, Missouri to Chicago, Illinois in 1955. She worked at Zenith TVS in Chicago , Ill. Lillie left Zenith TVS to open her family own grocery store on the West Side of Chicago where she helped people in her community who needed grocery assistance. Lillie moved to Oakland California in 1973 with her two grandchildren and her daughter joined the family in 1974. She retired from Alameda County Hospital in Oakland California. Lillie Mary Allen is survived by her only child Barbara J Hayes and son in law Earl W Hayes Jr of Covington Ga. She is survived by her three grandchildren, Terrence Lamont Allen of Castro Valley, California, Lloyd Antione Key and granddaughter in law Jennifer A Key of Conyers, Georgia, Daniel O’Neal Hudson Jr and granddaughter in law Mercedes Hudson of Oakland, California. She is survived by five great grandchildren, Terrence Lamont Allen 2nd, Haliey S Allen, Daniel O’Neal Hudson 3rd, Dyson O’Neal Hudson, Drew O’Neal Hudson. She is survived by one great-great child, Navy Allen. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lillie was devoted to God. She instilled the love of Jesus Christ into her family. She took all her grandchildren to church with her and made sure they where introduce to the Lord at an early age. She consistently made sure family and friends had a place to live when they faced hard times. You would find Lillie every morning and every night reading her bible and praying for all her family.
