Minister Lela Delissa Caster

The Life, The Journey, The Legacy Our beloved Minister Lela Delissa Caster, born Lela Delissa Washington entered this earthly realm in Akron, Ohio to Dorothy Lee Washington(Carter) and Steve J. Keaton on July 3rd, 1961. She was preceded in death by her parents in 2016 and 2017, respectively. In 1982, at the the young age of twenty one, she Left the small town of Akron, Ohio to pursue her dreams in the big city of Atlanta, Georgia. Upon arrival in Atlanta she continued her education in healthcare and eventually secured a coveted position in the sought after City Schools of Decatur, over the school nurse program. She would later continue her career in the prominent Emory University Healthcare system. In 1993, Lela rededicated her life to Christ at Word of Truth Church, under the tutelage of Dr. Paul A. Reed. Lela was intentional and adamant about her walk with Christ! Lela began her Missionary work by boldly and fearlessly walking the streets of Atlanta teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and saving hundreds of lives along the way. Through her Servant Leadership, she spent countless hours leading the effort to stop homelessness and hunger in Atlanta by volunteering at Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless Inc., volunteering at homeless shelters and starting food and clothing drives and pantries throughout the Greater Atlanta area. In 2000, her lifelong prayers were answered when she met the love of her life, Tyrone Lee Caster. They were joined in Holy Matrimony, October 7th, 2000. Lela received her ordination in 2014 under the tutelage of Pastor Jerome Wilkins at Family Fellowship International Christian Church. In 2016 she discovered a new found passion in real estate investing and in 2018 she received her commercial and residential real estate investment certification. She learned the craft and built a network to navigate the aggressive real estate trade in Atlanta, Ga. She was the expert in Real Estate Investing. Lela had a special affinity for, and was profoundly and infinitely proud of her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grand child. On April 24th, 2024, Lela peacefully released her earthly vessel in Atlanta, Georgia and gained her wings to fly high with the most high God. Lela leaves to continue her Legacy, her husband; Tyrone Lee Caster, three children; Michael Washington, Jamika Bryant and Ronald Washington, thirteen grandchildren; Mikayla, Titus Jr., Malachi, Zakiah, Titianah, JaiLi, Sapphira, Scarlett, Eli, Zara, Nilah, Nalah(deceased) and Nilan and one great grand child; Amory. Lela extended her heart, and in marriage gained two additonal children; Tyrone Leon Caster II and Tanja Latoya Meadows (Caster), and six additional grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her 3 sisters, Spring Opara, Tandria Washington and Raina Marstellar….and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, family, friends and a special God Mother, Ms. Lois Mann. Lela is loved exponentially and is near and dear to all of our hearts, her light will forever shine on. Celebration of Life Service will be held on SATURDAY, May 18, 2024 at 10:300AM at our Gwinnett Chapel; Pastor Jerome Wilkins, Officiating.
