LaSaundra V. Jones

LaSaundra V. Jones was born on February 12, 1971, in Enterprise, Alabama, to Bobby and Betty Jones. As the youngest of five children, she was deeply loved and cherished by her parents and siblings, whose care and encouragement helped shape the remarkable woman she became. Raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, and later Atlanta, Georgia, LaSaundra attended Inman Middle School, where she formed lifelong friendships with Aloma Waters and Mike Wilkie. She treasured their bond, considering them family throughout her life. A gifted singer, songwriter, and lover of the arts, LaSaundra found joy in music and creativity from an early age. Inspired by Janet Jackson, she pursued her passion for music and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Georgia State University in 2004 and a Master of Public Administration from Troy University in 2014. LaSaundra built a rewarding career in retail, serving as Assistant Manager at Rigby & Peller. She was known for her warm spirit, compassionate heart, and welcoming smile, often introducing herself as, “Sundra…like the sun.” She had a special gift for helping others feel valuable and beautiful. LaSaundra’s greatest joy was her beloved son, Kamafi Lowe, whose life she cherished beyond measure. She nurtured his creativity and celebrated their shared love of music, storytelling, and the arts. She and her beloved son are reunited in peace. LaSaundra also found immeasurable joy in her precious granddaughter, Kamiah, who brought light and happiness to her heart. LaSaundra leaves to cherish her memory her precious granddaughter, Kamiah Lowe; Kamiah’s mother, Mariah, and grandmother, Verlinda; her devoted sisters and brothers in love, Betty and Russell Dukes, Sr., Phyllis and John McKnight, Sr., and Barbara and David Bronson, Sr.; her cherished nieces and nephews; her loving cousins; lifelong friends Aloma Waters, The Wilkie Family (Mike, Gwendolyn, and Angelique), and Charles Lowe; and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and love. LaSaundra will be remembered for her radiant spirit, unwavering love, creativity, resilience, and grace. Though she and her beloved son are reunited in eternal peace, her light continues to shine through the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the love she so generously shared
