Larry Dean Thomas

Mr. Larry Dean Thomas, 68, of Lithonia Georgia, passed away on February 7, 2026 at his residence. Larry was born on April 2, 1957 in Salem Alabama, to the late Arthur Thomas and the late Jessie Green Thomas. He was the 13th out of 14 children. His family later relocated to Atlanta Georgia. Larry attended Booker T. Washington High School and at an early age began working at the Varsity. After graduating from Washington High School in 1974, he went on to work as a skilled laborer until he reached retirement. Larry was devoted to his family, and never met a stranger. He had an affectionate and outgoing spirit; he loved unconditionally and showed it outwardly in the way he cared for and serviced others. In 1976, Larry met the love of his life Dianne Davis, in Atlanta Georgia. Larry and Dianne went on to have two children, DeMetric Davis and April Thomas, whom he cherished & loved dearly. Larry, also know as “Pie” brought so much joy to his family and friends; to know him was to love him. He was an excellent cook and “Grill Master”, who didn’t mind grilling year round, in any weather. His love for cooking began at an early age by being in the kitchen with,and learning from, his mother. During every family event you would find him on the grill and frying fish, as he loved feeding family and friends. Pie would start early in the mornings making his rounds, as he would say, visiting his family and often taking them plates or a bag of his ‘fall-off-the-bone’ ribs when he cooked. He enjoyed watching cartoons, Jeopardy!, the Daily News, football (Atlanta Falcons), and his all-time favorite, Sanford & Son, as he loved to laugh. Larry was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Jessie Thomas; his siblings, Jesse Willie Thomas, Essie Chambers, Dorothy Edmonds, and Warner C. Thomas. Memories of his love and laughter will forever live on in the hearts of his life long love, Dianne Davis; his beloved children, DeMetric Davis (Christy), April Thomas, and Andraecus Davis; his adored grandchildren, Jamon Thomas, Sequoia Davis, Trimel Davis, JaKyla Bullock, and Jalen Davis; also bonus grandchildren Alexis Paschell, Braeden Davis,Luckiah Davis and Celeste Davis; his devoted siblings Minnie McCrary, Charlie Thomas (Louise), Mable Johnson, Tommie Thomas Sr. (Wilma), Christine Thomas, Ann Thomas, Joan Thomas, Patricia Washington (Gary), and Frederick Thomas (Viola); and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
