Kineya Hood

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kineya T. Hood, a beloved mother, devoted friend, and a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her. Kineya gained her wings on October 7, 2024 surrounded by her family and close friends. Her sons, Javier (25), K’mon (19), and K’Von (14), were her greatest pride and joy. Kineya was born on June 17, 1979, in Chicago to Larry and Adela Hood. She spent the early years of her life in Zirndorf, Germany where she was a graduate of Pestalozzi Hauptschule in Zirndorf. She returned to Chicago after graduation and briefly lived in Iowa, California and Maryland before making Georgia her permanent home. Kineya obtained an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor Degree of Science in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor Degree of Science in Project Management. She worked as a Senior Project Manager at Atlanta Journal Constitution. Kineya devoted her life to nurturing and supporting her family, she loved her boys dearly and taught them the values of kindness, perseverance, and unconditional love. Her laughter was infectious, and her spirit was a light that brought joy to all that had a chance to meet her. She is survived by her beloved sons, Javier, K’mon, K’von, stepson Khalil, stepdaughter maryanique , grandson August, granddaughter Khalani, Parents Larry and Adela Hood, Fiance Etienne Bryant Carr, brother Terrence Soto, sisters Latoya, Ronda and Shantall Hood, Sister in Law Deniar Bronson, nieces Alyssa Bronson, Marquita and Maaliyah Soto nephews Aubrey and Adrian Bronson, a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will carry her legacy of love in their hearts. She will be welcomed into heaven by her grandfather Felipe Soto, grandmother Delores Irene Soto and brother Angelo Bronson. A celebration of Kineya’s life will be held at 9am Saturday October 19th at the Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory located at 914 Scenic Highway S. Lawrenceville, GA 30045. The viewing will be Friday October 18t from 12-8. Kineya Hood may have left our world, but her love will forever remain in the hearts of her sons and all who were fortunate enough to know her. “Love is the greatest gift we can share,” and her legacy of love will continue to inspire us all. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 9:00AM. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18 from 12:00PM - 8:00PM. This service will be recorded and streamed live.
