Kenneth Lambert Wilkerson

Our beautiful brother got his wings. His assignment on Earth is done. Kenneth Lambert Wilkerson was born to Asbery and Hortense Womack-Wilkerson in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 7, 1955. He was the fourth child of eight children. His sunset was February 10, 2026. Kenny graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1973. He got an associate's degree in 1976 from The Ohio Institute of Technology in Columbus, OH. In Atlanta, GA, he worked for International Business Machines Corporation (IBM). He worked at Pitney Bowes, retiring after 35 years of service. He was employed part-time by Enterprise Car Rental. To Know Him Kenny was a Renaissance man. He was well-rounded, with broad knowledge, skills, and interests across many fields, embodying intellectual curiosity, creativity, and personal growth. Kenny was a cosmetologist, an avid gardener, and an entrepreneur. His green thumb talent was in his beautiful Dieffenbachia plants. His entrepreneurial ventures included cable service, crafting salt-and-pepper shaker holders from metal forks and spoons, wood carpentry, and custom computer stands, cigar humidors, and ice chests. People affectionately called Kenny ‘Bob the Builder’. He was frugal! He could negotiate the head off a nickel to get the price he wanted to pay. He would say, “I can make that for pennies.” He got scraps of wood and materials by driving through neighborhoods. If you got a service from him, a product he made, or a piece of plant he grew, you have a treasure because Kenny’s hands are all over it. He made you laugh, and often his words could make the hair on your arms stand up. His smile and laugh were infectious. His raspy voice was unforgettable. He presented a tough persona and was protective of his family. That toughness came from his love for you. He was the calm in a storm. Kenny lived by a bucket list. He was restoring his dad’s Lincoln Mercury. He bought his dream car, a two-seater 2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. He started playing golf, loved the game, and talked about the fun he had with his golf friends. For Kenny, the sky was the limit! Kenny was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Wilkerson; dad, Asbery Wilkerson; and mom, Hortense Wilkerson. Kenny leaves to mourn his beloved significant other, Angela Smith; his son, Isaac Jamaal Wilkerson. his stepdaughter, Portia Smith (Branden); two grandsons, Branden Ingram Jr. and Braesun Wilkerson; mother-in-law, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Asbery Wilkerson (Allison) in Atlanta GA; Kirk Wilkerson (Deidra); and Marlin Wilkerson (Keisha); three sisters, Vickie Wilkerson; Armetta Blue (Wayne); all in Cleveland, OH; and Jacqueline Beale (Robert) in Columbus, OH; Aunt Pearl Howard in Cleveland, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family brothers and sisters, and many friends. Kenny accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior during his brief illness journey. We pray that Kenny’s spirit is under the protection of his Heavenly Father. We will miss Kenny! The Celebration of Life Service for Kenneth L. Wilkerson will be held on Saturday February 28, 2026 at 1:00 PM. This service will be recorded and streamed live.
