Mr. Joseph Timothy Poston Sr.

Joseph “Joe” Timothy Poston, Sr., was born November 18, 1963, to Lula Poston and Albert McClain, Sr. in Brooklyn, New York. Joseph transitioned on Sunday, July 13, 2025, after battling cancer. He fought a good fight and was in God’s will. Joseph attended and graduated from P.S. 305, I.S. 258, and Boys High School in Brooklyn, New York. As a young man, Joseph migrated to Miami ,Florida, where he lived with his sister Debbie. He later moved to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and he made it his home for thirty years. He became a businessman, owning Caribbean Screen Printing. Joseph has three beautiful children from previous relationships. He also met Samantha Bryan in St. Thomas in 1997. He moved back to the states in 2018 to Covington, Georgia, where he married Samantha on September 30, 2023. Joseph was a member of Cross Culture Church in Stonecrest, Georgia. Joseph loved dogs, cars, and bling-bling clothes. He was always a sharp dresser and was very, very handsome, with gold teeth that he loved. His favorite saying on his telephone greeting was, “Leave a message, Money. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert McClain; mother, Lula Poston-King; brothers, William Allen, Sr., Benjamin Poston, Sr., Jimmy McClain, and Arthur Samuel; and sister, Gloria Dockery. Joseph leaves to mourn: his wife, Samantha; children, Sasha Poston (Rock), Melissa Ali (Isaac), Cherese Harrigan (Johnny), Joseph T. Poston, Jr. (Jessica), Shahimn J. Ruan (Whitney), and Somorra Pratt (Rawlins); brothers, Tony Poston (Patricia), Albert McClain, Garry McClain, and Darren Knight; sisters, Debbie Myles (Ernest), Yvonne Poston (Wayne), Aszalee McPhail, Geneva Tinsley, Daisy Allen, and Tishana Knight; sisters-in-law, Patricia Poston, Crystal Poston, and Erica Venzen; one aunt, Margaret Allen; and a special cousin, Antonia Allen; twelve grandchildren; and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The Celebration of Life Service for Joseph Timothy Poston, Sr. will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM. This service will be recorded and streamed live.
