John Gilbert Moline

Dr. John Gilbert Moline “Jack” passed away on May 13, 2026 after a short battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born July 26, 1941 in Springfield, MA to Gilbert and Martha (Tilden) Moline, Jack was always the one you’d want on your trivia team. He was a wealth of knowledge in history and the US Presidents. He grew up as the only son with an older sister Joni Foster and his best friend and younger sister Betsy McCall. They enjoyed vacationing on the New England coast at Nubble Light and Drakes Island where Jack would feast on lobster. As an adult, he enjoyed sharing these vacation spots and delicacies with family and friends alike. Jack attended college at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1964, followed by attending Texas Technical College and receiving his Master of Arts in 1966. After working for some time with a non-profit, Jack attended the University of Connecticut, where he received a Doctor of Philosophy in 1975, in addition to becoming a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor the same year. “Dr. Moline” was a beloved and fair Professor Emeritus at Assumption (College) University for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He supported his Masters Counseling level students and challenged them to be their best. Jack was known in the Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program community and worked with rehabilitation counselors throughout New England. Jack met the love of his life, Sandra “Sandy” Mikolajczak in 1991 in Ocala, FL. They married Dec 31, 1992 in honor of Jack’s parents who wed that day in 1935. Jack and Sandy lived in Worcester, MA until his retirement in 2002. They loved spending time together on their boat named OTOBE and were members of the Rhode Island Yacht Club. They retired in Ocala, FL where Jack could be found winning Yard of the Month, swimming, relaxing outside, or fishing with Norman and Betsy McCall. Jack and Sandy moved to Monroe, GA in 2025 to be closer to family. Jack lived his final days surrounded by his beautiful and faithful bride and family members. Jack is survived by his wife, Sandy, his 2 sisters, Joni and Betsy, and numerous nieces and nephews who love him dearly.
