Levett & Sons, Funeral Home, 4347 Flat Shoals Pkwy, Decatur, GA., 30034. 404-241-5656 Jermiah Cramer Sr. departed this life on Sunday, February 19, 2017. He was born in Bowman, South Carolina, the youngest child of Asbury and Rothine Cramer (both deceased) on Thursday, August 4, 1938 with his twin Isaiah (deceased). Jermiah grew up in the church and when his parents passed away, he moved to Buffalo, New York with his older siblings. Jerry was a devoted husband to Mary Ann Cramer (deceased) and loving provider for his five children, Jermiah Cramer Jr., Theresa Cramer, Timothy Cramer Sr., Kimberly Roberts, and Hope White. He leaves behind all of his children, mother-in-law Geneva Givens, over 20 grandchildren, and a host of favorite nieces and nephews. Jermiah believed in education. Having only attended school to the 6th grade, he was an independent learner and attended Literacy Volunteers of America to increase his reading skills. Jermiah served in the Army National Guard of New York State and retired after over 33 years. He was an excellent leader and trainer to all soldiers. He retired from the Enterprise Box Company as a supervisor and machinist. When Jermiah moved to metro Atlanta in 1998, he embraced the chance to start a new life. He was an active member at the Roswell Senior Citizen center, and enjoyed working at Kroger, and the AMC Movie Theater at Phipps Plaza. Diagnosed with Dementia, Jerry did not let that slow him down. He allowed his daughters to help him live an independent life as long as possible. Known for his sense of humor and being a practical joker, Jerry was a faithful sibling, loving father, and caring uncle to many. He went out of his way to listen, support, and help others whenever he could. He served his country, family, and those that God put in his path. When he could no longer serve others, due to the progression of the brain disorder Dementia, his family with loving care served him. Jerry believed in family, commitment, loyalty, and caring for one another. He was happiest when everyone was together having a barbecue, eating good food, and enjoying each other's company. With such a large family, Jerry's motto was “Come together, stay together, and leave together.” We look forward to seeing him when we can all be together again. “I've changed my address to heaven, I've crossed the green divide I know there is no sorrow or crying, because I have reached the other side. I am so happy to be here, for the Lord himself I see I've changed my address to heaven, that’s the place where you'll find me.”
