Janice D. Morris, 68, of Fayetteville, GA passed on Monday October 18, 2021. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday October 27, 11AM at Dawn Memorial Park Decatur, GA. Minister Janice Morris was born on November 6, 1952, to the late Mr. and Mrs. David and Nettie Thornton, Sr. She was raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and is the second of eight siblings. She was united in holy matrimony to Elder David Morris on December 24, 1971, and had three children. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, and friend. She loved to travel, laugh, shop, and spend time with her grandchildren. Her beautiful legacy of love will be treasured for eternity. She served in Operations Services and Support at Norfolk Southern Railroad Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia, for seventeen years, specializing in central yard operations and communications. She was saved at an early age and served God ever since. She realized a call was on her life when God began to give her a Word and a listening ear for His people. Her ministry began at Bride Temple Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where she taught Sunday School and brought anointed messages to the flock. She was an ordained Minister at The Assembly of the Saints Deliverance Church, in Villa Rica, Georgia, where Dr. Fred Foster is the Pastor. She served as Co-Leader of the Women’s Ministry and used her gifts through hospitality, poetry, spoken word, and preaching the Word of God. She loved to fellowship and to teach the people of God. God gave her compassion for His people and a passion to see them saved, delivered, and set free from whatever is holding them back from surrendering to His call. She desired to see the people of God live their everyday lives in faith, love, happiness, and trust in God. She departed this earth on October 18, 2021, and leaves to cherish her memory three children: Mrs. Carissa (Nelson) Gray, Dr. Absalom Morris, and Dr. Chandan Robbins; four grandchildren, Rachel Morris (preceded in death), Hudson Morris, John (Trey) Robbins, III, Angel Gray, and Nelson Gray, Jr.; one great-grandchild, Sterling Morris; siblings, Mrs. Linda (Eddie) Shaw, Mr. David (Nellie) Thornton, Mr. Gary Thornton, Ms. Beverly Jackson, Mr. Andrew Thornton, Ms. Willie Maxey, and Mrs. Mamie (Donald) Bradford; aunts, Ms. Martha Davis and Ms. Emily Sanders; and a host of relatives and friends.
