James Emmanuel Harris, Jr, 27, of Snellville, GA passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, 12:00 PM Peace Baptist Church, 4000 Covington Hwy, Decatur, GA 30032. Celebrating the Life of James Emmanuel Harris Jr. James Emmanuel Harris Jr. was born July 29, 1996, to Alisa and James Harris at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. James spent most of his life in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Shiloh High School in Snellville, Georgia as a member of the Class of 2015. His laid back, humorous, respectful, and kind personality easily made him loved by everyone who passed his way. He confessed his life to Christ at a young age at Kids across America Christian Sports Kamp in Golden, Missouri. James enjoyed participating at KAA Kamp as a member of Atlanta Youth on the Move during summer breaks. He also enjoyed playing basketball and participating in boy scouts as a youth. After High School, James took pleasure in working in hospitality and spending time with his family. James leaves his parents, Alisa and James Harris Sr. of Snellville, GA to celebrate his life. Along with three sisters Andreea Ayers and Jaimee Harris of Snellville, GA and Jada Harris who currently resides in Statesboro, GA for college, and a brother Jaylen Mhoon of St. Louis, Missouri, as well as a niece, Marlee Harris of Snellville, GA. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Thrisa Ayers of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Johnny Lee Ayers (Daisy Ayers) of Oran, Missouri to cherish his life along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. James was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Carrie and Alonzo Harris, along with his great-grandmother Mary Idom. As one of the KAA camp cheers chanted, “I’m alright. Don’t nobody worry about me. Umph! I’m alright! I’m alright! Umph! I’m alright! I’m alright! Umph! Don’t nobody worry about me.” We can imagine James looking down on us with a huge smile chanting the same. “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
