REFLECTION OF LIFE FOR JACQUELYN BAILEY SUNRISE: June 16, 1949 - SUNSET: May 11, 2021 Jacquelyn “Jackie” Bailey was born June 16, 1949, in Gary, Indiana, to Clarence Wesley Bailey, Sr and Mattie Moore Bailey. Born the second of thirteen children, and oldest daughter, she was a mentor, teacher, and force of unyielding love to all of her siblings. The scriptures say “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”/ ”Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again” (John 14:6; John 3:7). Jackie was a born-again Christian. Growing up, Jackie was known as a bookworm. She excelled in school. Whenever Jackie had an opportunity, you could find her with a book in her hand. She attended four different high schools in four years and graduated with honors as number 4 in class. Jackie obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. In 1981 Jackie married Larry Hayden and although the couple had no children, Jackie was the spiritual mother to dozens of children through her ministry at the Sword of the Lord Atlanta and the Sword of the Lord Newnan. Jackie was the matriarch of the family. She encouraged her family in all of their endeavors. Jackie wanted to see her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews excel. She prayed for them and the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even for those who have not yet been born. Jackie was a mighty prayer warrior, intercessor, and teacher of the Word of God. She was a faithful member for many years of the Sword of the Lord Church International, where she was an intercessor, youth minister, praise and worship dancer, and curriculum-writer and teacher for “Church School”. Her love for the Lord and compassionate heart impacted the lives of everyone around her. She founded and organized the annual Ethanim Celebration, where families from all over Newnan Georgia would join Sword families for a day of faith, fun, and fellowship. As part of her Ministry with children and young adults, Jackie strove to encourage, strengthen, and edify the faith of those in her spiritual care. One young man, who has since been called into the ministry and now pastors a church, says that sister Jackie gave him his start in the ministry. She taught him to pray, to intercede, and invited him on many occasions to bring the message, the Word of God, to the youth ministry. As one minister stated, “Sister Jackie was relentless in her endeavors to ensure that the body of Christ understood kingdom principles” and that her “smile was infectious”. In an email to her baby sister, Jessica, Jackie wrote of her love for her family and asked that she tell every one of her sisters and brothers that she loves them very much. Having understood that her time on earth was coming to an end, her final message to her family was "If you haven't already, please give your life to Jesus today”. Jackie transitioned from this life on May 11, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mattie Bailey, and four brothers Ray, Alvin, Clarence, and Gregory. She leaves to cherish in memory her four sisters, Brenda, Doris, Rose (Ted Millard), Jessica (Harry Campbell), four brothers, Lee (Hellen Bailey), Tyrone (Heike Burnett), Kenneth (Artie Burnett), and Tracy Bailey. One aunt, Earnice Cox, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 1 PM in our Chapel.
