Ladies and gentlemen, family, and friends, We gather here today to celebrate the life and honor the memory of a beloved soul who has left an indelible mark on our hearts. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, let us remember that we are here to celebrate a life that was lived with purpose, love, and faith. We come together in the spirit of Christian unity, finding solace and strength in our shared belief in a God who offers comfort and eternal hope. Marie Jacqueline Joseph Laguerre passed away at the age of 78 on July 6, 2023 after a difficult battle with cancer where her heart gave out at Northside Hospital. Marie Jacqueline Joseph was born on July 25, 1944 in Borgne, Haiti. She was one of many children of Theogene Laguerre and Amide Dieudonne. Marie Jacqueline went to Belgard, a high school in Saint-Louis du Nord. Marie Jacqueline was united in holy matrimony to Theogene Joseph and was blessed with 7 children. Marie Jacqueline embarked on a long and dangerous journey to Nassau, Bahamas and later the United States in 1994 where she worked as a housemaid so that her family could be more financially stable and have greater opportunities in the future. Marie Jacqueline Laguerre Joseph, or as we liked to call her Matante, lived a life that was a testament to the power of faith. She embraced the teachings of Christ, living each day with unwavering love, compassion, and kindness towards others. In her actions, she exemplified the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, and humility that Christ Himself embodied. Marie Jacqueline remarkably touched countless lives, leaving behind a legacy of faith that will forever inspire and guide us. Her unwavering belief in the goodness of God and the redemptive power of His grace served as a beacon of hope in a world often shrouded in darkness. She lived with purpose, cherishing the relationships she cultivated, and sowing seeds of love and joy wherever she went. As we bid our final farewell, let us be inspired by Marie’s life to live with renewed faith, compassion, and purpose. May we honor her memory by continuing her legacy of love, kindness, and service. Let us remember that each day is a gift, an opportunity to touch someone's life, to be a source of hope, and to share the good news of the gospel. Marie Jacqueline was predeceased by her husband, Theogene Joseph, her son Marc-Thony, her brothers Michel Laguerre, Theolond Laguerre, and Joanes Laguerre. She is survived her children, Nikete Laguerre, Jhins Joseph, Glaudna Dulcio, Glaudin Joseph, Gisele Joseph Moise, Theostene Joseph; her in-laws, Louis Dulcio, Bertony Moise, Marie-Heleine Joseph, Micheline Joseph, Carline Joseph, Marie-Lourdie Pierre-Louis and family; her brother and sisters, Alan Laguerre, Adele Ettienne, and Therese Alzemond; her grandchildren, Mackline Joseph, Tracy Joseph, Patrick Joseph, Frangel Pierre, Youbens Mustivar, Marie-Flore Massena, Andjy Joseph, Loudjy Hagan, Ashley Joseph, Mirdrina Dulcio, Loubins Dulcio, Gardy Dulcio, Michelson Moise, Giovanni Moise, Joel Joseph, Audrey Sarah Cece Joseph, Bryce Joseph; her great-grandchildren, Noelle Avery Hagan, Elijah Hagan, Elizabeth Hagan, Jean-Frendlen Pierre, and Camila Mustivar; her nieces and nephews, Wisnel, Wislin, Hans, Wisline, Mikerleande, Wedline, Wislande, Patrick, Lisa, Shenicka, Landy, Anide, Beniola, Alain, Roxye; her cousins Aliette, Lisette, and countless other cousins and friends.
