On January 9, 2024, Irvin Stanley Boseman Sr., affectionately known as Turk, completed his earthly tasks and transitioned to Heaven, joining his eternal Heavenly Father. Turk leaves a legacy treasured by his son Irvin Boseman Jr., his loving mother Mabel H. Boseman, two sisters – Lane and Venita, and three brothers – Mark, Neil, and Zachary (Dawn). Additionally, he will be fondly remembered by his Aunt Verna “Tula” Miller, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Turk is now reunited in eternity with his late wife, Louvenia, his brother, Kevin, and his father, Moses Boseman, Jr. For over thirty years, Turk was a faithful member of Old Landmark Sanctified Church in College Park, GA — he was a dedicated bible scholar. Being a pioneer in his circle, Turk attained the wisdom and intelligence to comprehend the Word of God and actively shared its teachings. He lived Apostle Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 2:15 “Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.” Turk dedicated himself to a clear mission of imparting the teachings of the Word. His goal was to share the message of Jesus with everyone he met. Although usually a man of few words, Turk spoke with fervor when spreading the Word, living by his motto: "Praise Jesus!" Inspired by God to learn more, Turk was lead to acquire multiple Bibles in various styles and languages. Turk was a self-taught polyglot — he mastered Spanish, German, French, and even embarked on learning Swahili. Unlike the children of Israel in Romans 10:2, Turk’s insatiable zeal for knowledge led him to embrace a lifelong journey of acquiring wisdom for his Savior Jesus Christ. Praise Jesus! Turk found comfort in solitude — following the teachings of the Bible to spend time alone with God. Unlike many of us who struggle to incorporate God and His Word into our busy lives, Turk excelled at this. Everyday, without fail, he dedicated time to reading his Bible — and he was rarely seen without his Bible. Praise Jesus! Turk was a caring and giving person. He embodied kindness and generosity, consistently sharing with those who sought assistance, even with his modest means. Praise Jesus! Today, let's collectively pay tribute to Turk by proclaiming "Praise Jesus!"
