Mr. Irizarry Jarvis Mack

On October 6, 2023, Irizarry went home to his eternal rest after a brief illness and hospitalization. IRIZARRY JARVIS MACK was born on March 17, 1960, to Mrs. Mable Mack and the late Mr. Lee Roy Mack. Irizarry attended elementary through high school in Augusta’s public school system. He spoke fondly of memories from Hornsby Elementary, Sandbar Ferry JHS, and Lucy Laney High School. It is at these places where he developed many long-lasting friendships. He was very active in playing football since childhood and had no greater love. He went on to complete his Bachelor’s of Business degree at Winston-Salem State University. It was there that he met his wife Elizabeth Bowden Mack. They wed on November 7, 1984.They spent the next 40 years raising their family. Irizarry was a dedicated father and husband. He worked tirelessly, to provide for his family. He was a respected manager, in the field of retail management, and taught his sons via modeling, an unparalleled work ethic. He was never too busy to take every opportunity to show his sons his love for them. He was the dad who was interested in whatever it was that the boy’s were engaged in, or needed. Often after a long day he would arrive home, and immediately be talked into a game or two of basketball, when he wanted nothing more than a meal and rest. He was in all avenues of his life, ready to do whatever was needed for those he loved. Irizarry kept pretty close to home and could often be found watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys, or reading his favorite car magazines. He took pleasure in the simple things in life, a good movie, a good meal, a good gospel song, or a spirited kitchen debate, where he would vigorously defend his point of view; especially if his “Cowboys” were the subject of discussion. He delighted in spending time with his grandchildren, and was always ready to be hands on, or PaPa on call, where they were concerned. He was a member of Williams Memorial CME church in Augusta, Georgia, and New Bethel AME in Lithonia, Georgia. He loved his church homes, and always enjoyed the lessons learned at both. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Christopher Lee Alexander Mack and Brandon Darnell Mack; mother, Mable Mack; sister, Bonita Gail Mack; grandchildren, Ceaja, Christopher, Jr., C’Niyah, Cristen, Lauren, Mariah, Kai, and Ambrose; aunt, Elloise Hatcher; uncle, John Hatcher; and a host of nieces and nephews, beloved cousins, other family and friends.
