Mrs. Inease Wright Coston-Reddick, 88 of Douglasville, GA passed on Friday, October 18, 2024 at her residence in Douglasville, GA. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mark AME Church 3605 Campbellton Rd. SW Atlanta, GA. Interment Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. (CST) at Dunn Chapel AME Church, Troy, AL. A wake service will be held on Friday, October 25,2024 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Rainbow Park Baptist Church, 2941 Columbia Dr. Decatur, GA 30034. Inease (Inez) Coston-Reddick, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt took her wings and entered eternal rest on October 18, 2024 at 2:45 p.m. while at home. She entered this world on June 26,1936 to the late Charlie Wright & Cannie Mae Howard Wright of Troy, Alabama. She was the third of nine siblings. There, she was educated in the Pike County School System. To pursue better employment opportunities for her and her son, Roland, she relocated to Hartford, Connecticut in 1965. She pursued a career in education and worked as a Teacher’s Assistant with the Hartford Public School System, retiring in 2001. She obtained certificates in Early Childhood education and attended the University of Hartford. Loved by many of the students whose life she touched, many have been affected by her lasting impact. Being a woman of faith, while there she attended Philips Metropolitan CME Church. She was very active in her church home and served on the choir, Usher Board, and food staff. Many still rave about her collard greens! Eventually, she found and married the love of her life, Clenton (Clent) Reddick in August of 1989. Her and Clent moved to Douglasville, GA in 2007 to take advantage of warmer weather and to be near his beloved nephew, Charles. They joined Saint Mark A.M. E. Church where she remained a member until her death. Even though her declining health prevented her from attending services in person, she was faithful with watching on live-streaming. She enjoyed the singing, being a part of the prayer calls, and listening to the Word of God. She gave her life to the Lord at a young age and continued to mature in her Christian faith. Inez was affectionately known as “Auntie” and “Gramma Nez.” She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and collecting elephants. To this day she has a massive collection! She leaves to cherish her memory and a lasting legacy, her son, Roland (Dr. Lea Roberts) Coston of Charlotte, NC.; nephew/son, Charles Reddick of Douglasville, GA.; 7 grandchildren: Tiffany Coston of Tampa, Fl., Teighlor Coston of Charlotte, NC., Dr. Jeilyn Coston of Indianapolis, IN., Staff Sargent Tyler (Tahateana) Coston of Fayetteville, NC., Chief Warrant Officer III Dwayne E. (Tamera) Merriwether of Fort Mill, SC., Bishop Robert (Shania)Merriwether of Charlotte, NC., and Krystal (Eld. Zachary) Humphrey of Charlotte, NC. She also leaves 5 siblings and their spouses, Homer (Lucille) Wright, Kathleen (Leo) Forbish, Annie Pearl (James D) Wilson of Troy, Alabama; Arthur (Maritza) Wright of St. Petersburg, FL. and Evelyn (Jimmie) Kidd, of Windsor, CT. She was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, God-children, an Aunt and Uncle in Troy Alabama, and a special daughter, Angela Coston of Tampa Fl. Included amongst those that knew and loved her, are a host of friends and church family members in Connecticut. She will forever be missed. Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Clenton Reddick; 3 of her siblings, Stanley Wright, Dorothy Hicks and Hellen Bell; and a dear niece, April Reddick.
