Reflection of Life Ian Barrow December 26, 1950 – July 12, 2025 With the smooth elegance of a Coltrane solo and the warmth of a home-cooked Bajan meal, Ian Barrow lived life with soul, style, and love. Born in Bridgetown, St. Michael Parish, Barbados, to Gloria Patricia née Carter and Everton Belfield Barrow (both deceased). Ian was the eldest of two brothers, paving the way with quiet confidence for his brother, Michael Barrow. At 18, Ian took his dreams across the ocean to Canada, attending McGill University before stepping into a successful career in sales in various cities across the United States. He traversed from city to city, following the rhythm of ambition, before finding his groove in Atlanta—the city he would ultimately come to call home. Ian’s professional journey culminated at Atlas Roofing Corporation as Director of International Sales & Marketing. Ian built strong relationships across the industry - earning the trust and respect of colleagues, customers, and even competitors alike. Ian left an indelible mark well beyond his roles at Atlas, through his advancement of the industry in key organizations including the Polyisocyanurate Insulation Manufacturers Association, ASTM International, Single Ply Roofing Industry, NRCA Roofing Day, and the Canadian Roofing Contractors Association. But Ian’s rhythm wasn’t just found in business—it flowed through his lifelong passion for jazz. A true aficionado, he followed the music from Montreux to Montreal to Rotterdam, sipping Mount Gay and collecting friends and memories along the way. He also found joy in cooking, sharing his love for food and laughter with everyone lucky enough to pull up a chair at his table. That same spirit of joy echoed through the amazing porch parties, unforgettable holiday brunches, and all-around celebrations he loved to host. Whether it was a summer evening filled with music and laughter or a festive table piled high with food, Ian had a gift for bringing people together. Ian was father to Kimberly Barrow, Kevin Barrow, and Ian Barrow. He was grandfather to Kevin Jr., Kameron, Kristian, Campbell, Quinn, and Marley. He is survived by partner, Tracey Hall, and an incredible circle of family and friends, who will miss his stories, his wisdom, and that ever-present sparkle in his eye. A life well-lived, with a soundtrack all his own. A Celebration of Life service to honor and remember Ian will be held at Bethel Methodist Church, St. Michael, Barbados on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025 at 9:30 am. Interment will be followed, where Ian will be laid to rest at Westbury Cemetery in St. Michael, Barbados. Family, friends, and all whose lives Ian touched are invited to pay their respects at a visitation to be held at Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, St. Michael, Barbados on Friday, August 22nd, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The family is extremely grateful and thankful for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers to them during this time of bereavement. Your kindness and thoughtful gestures have brought comfort and strength. As they continue to reflect and find peace, following the service, family kindly asks for privacy together in quiet reflection. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
