Mr. Horace H Mcdonald

Born on November 11, 1962, to Roy McDonald and Lovelin Edwards, Horace was the fourth of their children—and from a young age, it was clear he had a spirit that couldn’t be contained. He began his academic journey at Watsonton Primary School at age 6, continuing on to Milk River All-Age School, Brompton Preparatory, and eventually graduating from Kemps Hill High School, where he studied carpentry and completed his studies at just 18 years old. But Horace’s talents and passions reached far beyond the classroom or workshop. He was a man who loved to live life out loud. Whether it was cooking up a storm, dancing with joy, or DJing at family functions, Horace had a magnetic energy that could light up any room. He was truly the life of the party—a man who loved to see others smile and brought warmth wherever he went. His sense of style was unmistakable. Always sharply dressed in his Clarks shoes and signature Kangol hats, Horace had an eye for fashion and a flair that made him stand out. He was just as comfortable watching movies with family as he was entertaining the crowd with music and laughter. In March 2001, Horace made the brave move to the United States, where he continued to build his life and legacy. He began working in cable installation with Charter/Spectrum, a career he held proudly until his well-earned retirement a few years ago. But beyond his achievements and hobbies, what made Horace truly special was his deep love and devotion to his family. He was a man who showed up—not just with his presence, but with his heart. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kenya, and his two cherished children, Mikhail and Tasheik, who were the light of his life. His memory will live on in his brothers: Alvin (Vinny), Wayne, Clive, and Oneil, and his sisters: Lesma (Darkie), Yvonne (Norma), Pauline, and Alethia. He is also remembered fondly by his many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large circle of friends who became family too. Horace lived a full life—a life marked by kindness, laughter, style, and love. He taught us the value of hard work, the joy of a well-cooked meal, the importance of family, and how to truly celebrate life. His presence was a gift, and his legacy will continue through each of us. So today, as we say farewell to Jack, we also say thank you—for the memories, for the music, for the love. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may we continue to honor him by living life with the same passion, heart, and joy that he did. Rest well, Horace. You will forever be missed and always remembered.
