Helen Lenora Welch

Helen Lenora Welch, 84, born June 16, 1935, in Louisville, MS, to Abraham B. Little and Nathalie (Ball) Little; went to sleep in the Lord August 18, 2019, at Emory St. Joseph hospital in Atlanta, GA. She was a faithful member of the New Life Seventh-day Adventist church in Warner Robins, GA, but had recently relocated to Tucker, GA. Those who are left to cherish her wonderful memory include six daughters: Jean Hamblin and Cleo Simpson of Avondale Estates, GA; Felicia Reevers (Dennis, deceased), Edith Welch and Melissa Welch of Tucson, AZ; Traci Cromwell of Battle Creek, MI; two sons: James Hamlin (Karen) of Roswell, GA; Jeffrey Welch (Michelle) of Atlanta, GA; 24 grand-children; 19 great grand-children; five sisters: Emma Randle, Wesley Griffin, Roxine Ware (Leonard), Carol Mead, and Natha Harris; and four brothers: James Little (Idessa), Earl Little (Marilyn), Abraham Little, Jr. (Alice), and Claude Little (Denise). She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dave Welch; a son, Keith Welch; a grand-son, Timothy Hamblin; and seven siblings: Eppie Little, Johnnie Sheppard, Mary Simmons, Fred Little, Doris Muscadin, Nathaniel Little and Betty Rose Little. Helen’s much-loved survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. There is no doubt that she considered her friends here on Earth as flowers in the garden of her life. Especially loved flowers in her garden included Keith Simpson, Stephanie Welch, Michael Cromwell, and Linda Clay. Helen and family moved from Kosciusko, MS, in 1966, to Battle Creek, MI, where she lived until 2007, at which time she moved to Warner Robins, GA. While living in Battle Creek, Helen was employed by Kmart and Target. She was an active member of Berean Seventh-day Adventist church. She also returned to school, graduating from Battle Creek Central High School in 1981, marching with her sixth child, Jeffrey. Helen did not want to be funeralized. Her final resting place will be next to her parents at the New Prairie Grove Cemetery in Starkville, MS.
