Georgia Lee Tarver

Mother Georgia L. Tarver was born on February 1, 1938, in Seale, Alabama to the late Spencer Banks Sr. and Deland Banks. She entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2023 at her home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Mother Tarver, aka Granny, aka Granny Girl, gave her life to Christ at an early age. She served the Lord faithfully. She raised her children to love the Lord and they all gave their lives to Christ at an early age as well. Mother Tarver was one of the first members at Greater Levy Missionary Baptist Church where the late Reverend Paul Cainion was pastor. She served faithfully there on the Mother Board for over thirty years. When she moved to Stone Mountain, GA in 1996, she joined Clarkston First Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board until her health decline. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband Reverend Willie Tarver, Sr.; her oldest daughter: Mary L. Edgecombe (Vernald); four sisters: Hattie Crowell, Rosa Lee, Annie Ruth Hill, and Deland Jackson; three brothers: James Gaines, Joseph Banks, and Spencer Banks. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters: Annette Williams, Conyers, GA; Tabatha C. Robinson (Quintilis), Stone Mountain, GA; three sons: David Person, Columbus, GA; Willie Tarver, Jr. (Sandy), College Park, GA; Johnny Leon Tarver (Glenda), Atlanta, GA; one brother: David Banks, Columbus, GA, sixteen grandchildren: Lisa P. Thorton (Vincent), Tamera V. McClure (Cory), Stephen Edgecombe, Willie Tarver III, Johnny Leon Tarver II, Joshua E. Tarver, Nathaniel Williams II, Darius I. Tarver, Audreana C. Robinson, Brandon Williams, Stephanie L. Edgecombe, Cameron Q. Robinson, Aaron J. Tarver, Arbrielle L. Tarver, Jaslynn L. Tarver and Ashlee B. Tarver; five great grandchildren: Nigel Roulhac, Alexandria L. McClure, Kaleb E. McClure, Aerial A. McClure, and Jayden N. Tarver; six nieces: Helen Goodwin, Bernice Young, Mary Rutledge, Betty Crowell, Consuela Horton, and Shamicia Rutledge; one nephew: Charles Crowell; five special friends: Mrs. Mary Jenkins, Mrs. Ivera Powell, Mrs. Maria Franklin, Mrs. Vannie Alexander, and Mrs. Lula Graves; four special goddaughters; Terry Gilmore, Sharon Robinson, Jeanne Robinson and Shonda Miller; and a host of relatives and friends.
