Frank McDougald

Frank McDougald was born to Julia May McNair and Jacob McDougald on the magnificent afternoon of June 16, 1941. He was raised by his Great Aunt and Uncle Julia and Frank Davis in Baltimore Maryland. He always spoke very highly of his child rearing years by cherishing the valuable lessons given him by his parents whom he subsequently modeled all his life. Frank attended the Baltimore elementary and junior high school system and was accepted into one of the top High Schools based on his academic excellence. He always found the inspiration to excel in life and often contributes his ambition to the encouragement he received from many of his teachers who attributed to his success as he graduated from the Morgan State University with Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts. While attending College he fell in love for the first time with the “Theatre” and became an active member of the Arena Playhouse Theatre Group where he performed in different capacities for many years. One of his proudest moments in his life was the time he spent as an activist in the Civil Rights Movement where he participated in voter’s rights and the march in Washington which landed him in jail for the cause. Nothing impressed him more during this time than actually meeting the great Martin Luther King in the early 60’s which brought tears to his eyes every time he talks about the “movement”. Frank also loved to travel and as he carried his “Manny Pack” with many personal items and treasures. Frank worked for many employers throughout is life and ultimately retired from the City of Baltimore Wage Commission in 2009. He met his amazing wife and best friend, Helen Watson McDougald, on a ski trip in the early 90’s. These lovebirds had a romantic courtship which lasted for a few years and married on the beautiful afternoon of November 6, 1999. Frank’s memories will be dearly cherished by his loving wife; Helen McDougald, his stepchildren; Corey Watson and Cherly Watson Harris (Roger); grandchildren; Mathew, Lauren and Luke Harris; his siblings; Venus Robinson, Debra Glenn, Darryl (Lenora) McDougald, Annette Clarke McDougald. Frank held a significantly close relationship with so many of his First, Second and Third Cousins, Sister and Brother in laws, Nieces and Nephews, Friends, Neighbors and Acquaintances that to name them all would fill a book.
