Mr. Felipe Martin Velasco

Felipe Martin Velasco Saiz, 45, passed away on January 14th 2023. He is survived by his Grandpa Saiz, Grandma Velasco, parents, uncles and aunts, brothers, nieces and nephews, cousins, his wife and children. His loss was completely unexpected and the family is deeply shocked and saddened. Felipe was born on March 24th, 1977 to Michael Saiz and Sylvia Velasco in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He grew up with his two brothers, Jude and Miguel Saiz under the watchful and loving gaze of Sylvia. He met his wife Carla Gochett in Albuquerque during the summer 1999 and they began “rockin heavy” together. He loved his wife very much. They were each others best friend. Together they raised four girls: twins; BellaSol and ZiaKenya 20, GemAria 18, and Mya Cecilia 14. The lives of Carla and their girls will forever be changed without Felipe. Felipe had many passions. He would spend his free time tending to his awe inspiring home and yard, enjoying the outdoors, camping, traveling, biking with his friends Xavier, Brian, and his brother Jude. He also enjoyed good food, sports, birdwatching, playing video games and photography/videography. Felipe worked with Verizon for 15+ years and made meaningful connections with many colleagues, people he mentored, and his employees. His promotion that brought the family to Georgia gave him enormous pride in that he was able to have a greater impact in helping people and guide others to attain the success that was available to them. His work motto was "let's make the best of the time we are here" Felipe made many close friendships in his life. Everyone who knew Felipe, knew that he was a free spirit; He saw the silver lining in every situation. He had an immense passion for family and was always a source of positivity. He touched a great many lives. Felipe’s family and friends, colleagues and employees will miss him more than words can say. Many people have asked how they can help the family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider making a donation to help cover counseling services, school expenses, and household necessities for Carla and Felipe’s four daughters.
