Ernestine Roberts Westry

Mrs. Ernestine Roberts Westry was born 06/30/1948 in Hartford, CT to the late Neriah and Sophie Roberts. She received her formal education through the Hartford Public School System. After graduating from high school, she found employment at the Travelers insurance company. In 1975 she moved to the Decatur, GA and later explore Entrepreneurship, establishing a catering business (Tines Catering). She was united in holy matrimony with William Bill Westry on June 22, 1968, in Hartford, CT. Their union was blessed with two children. Sister Ernestine accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Hartford, CT. Soon after moving to Georgia, she joined Victory Baptist Church, Decatur, GA and later moved her membership to Grace Baptist Church, Stockbridge, GA. Ernestine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother she passed away surrounded by family and a close friend Jackie Holloway who passionately stood by her side. Ernestine was known for her warmth and generosity, she dedicated her life to her family and friends. Ernestine loved traveling, gardening and baking. She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Ernestine departed this life for her eternal home on March 20, 2026. Ernestine is preceded in death by her loving husband William Westry, her parents Neriah and Sophie Roberts, two sisters Lula Bell Nolan (the late Gene Nolan, Sr.) Mary J. Williams (the late Mark Williams Sr.), one Brother, James Edward Roberts, (the late Linda Faye Roberts). Ernestine leaves to cherish her memory two children Kevin Westry, and Michelle Gordon (Dexter), one God son Michael Banks, three grandchildren Travious McCalla, Mariah Gibbon and DeMaya Gordon, two bonus grandchildren Nadine Gibbon and Earl Gibbon Jr, bonus greatgrandchildren, Kirsten Banks, Keyanna Haughton, Roxanne Gibbon, Romero Gibbon and Kinsley Gibbon, three sisters Diane (Cookie) Roberts, Yvonne Waits and Linda J. Roberts, two brothers John M. Roberts, Curtis W. Roberts, four brothers-in-law Russel Westry, Jesse Westry, Aster Westry and Kelvin Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
