Ernest George Essue

Obituary Ernest was born and raised in Duckenfield, St. Thomas, Jamaica. He attended the Golden Grove Primary School and was a member of the Golden Grove Anglican Church. He was married for 55 years and blessed with five children. He worked for the Jamaica Sugar Estate for a few years and moved on to work at The Goodyear JA Ltd. He loved his family dearly and extended that love to others. He was also very athletic. He played cricket, was a great football (soccer) player, was an avid swimmer, and loved to do deep sea diving. He will always be remembered for his football (soccer) skills and recollection of his encounters below the sea. He migrated with his family to the Bronx, New York in 1989. He worked a few different jobs until he fell in love with taxi driving. He loved driving and would drive everywhere he was asked. It was after an incident that he reaffirmed his faith and became very knowledgeable about the bible and loved the Lord. In 2006, he and his family moved to Conyers, Georgia. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a uniquely kind and giving man. He was full of knowledge and shared his advice liberally. Ernest is survived by his wife, Myrtle; three sons, Neco, Ron, and Teddy, and two daughters, Sardia and Paula (Dionne); a son-in-law, Mark, and a daughter-in-law, Svetlana (Kimmy); eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He leaves behind many adopted children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, seven brothers, Baldwin, Clement, Lloyd, Bobby, Richard, Peter, and Roger; five sisters, Esmilda, Charlotte, Janet, Angella, and Elam; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Moving to Georgia, he met cousins, Jennifer, Lloyd, and Robert. He also leaves behind a host of friends and loved ones. Celebration of Life (LIVESTREAMED) will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in our Chapel.
