Ms. Erin V Turner

On April 12, 1970, Erin was born to Margene Raven and David Turner. She spent most of her life living in and serving the community that raised her. She was from the Eastside, McAfee Rd. to be exact, and she would never let you forget that. In her own words, she was forced to leave the nest because she needed to truly learn independence. Since college was always her plan, she chose to become a Tiger. She attended Grambling State University, where she pursued and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She knew more than anything that she wanted to help people—just in her own unique "Erin" way. Along the way, she had two beautiful daughters, Raven and Rebecca. She did her best and gave them all that she knew and understood how to give. She instilled morality in them; she was as hard as a rock, but she loved them even harder. Even during their roughest patches, Erin always made sure they were good. That was a mother’s love. She is survived by her sister, Viondi, and her brother, David—the two who probably knew her best.They loved her fiercely, and at times, you would never even know she was the big sister. To her niece, Diva Jean, and her nephew, Jay: you were as much hers as Raven and Rebecca are your mom’s. One thing everyone knows is that she was your safe space to talk. She wanted to see you win, but more than anything, she just wanted to see you safe.Tee Tee loved you and never played about you. Her grandsons were her everything—the one thing she knew she did absolutely right. Little Chris (and the big one, too) was just like her. If he didn’t want to talk that day, she’d say, "I feel you, bruh. I just wanted to make sure you're good." King was her best friend, and he never played about his Gugie; she answered for him every single time he called. Her "Zayder Fader" (Zane) was her TV and sleep buddy. They would spend hours in the same space, just chilling. On May 13, 2025, she underwent open-heart surgery. Afterward, she dedicated herself to getting better. Every day was a struggle, but she made it through each one miraculously. On May 14, 2026, she took her last breath, sleeping peacefully. Erin lived life on her own terms. She was an amazing mother, an even better grandmother, a loving sister, a beautiful friend, a ride-or-die Tee Tee, and everything in between. She was Erin. She was direct. She wanted it her way, on her time, simply because she said so. She will be forever loved and missed.
