Emma Lee Lewis

“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” Psalm 34:1 Emma Lee Lewis (Emily) was born November 9, 1936 in Tifton, GA to the late Julius and Emma Lewis. She spent her early childhood and young adult life between Arcadia & Miami, FL. Residing many years in Monticello, NY., Detroit, MI., & finally settling in Stone Mountain, GA. Having an adventurous spirit, Emma loved to travel! She was a connoisseur of many things. She was the CEO of Blade Enterprises (family-owned business), sole proprietor (E.L. Christian Bookstore and Bundles of Joy Daycare) among a long list of other careers. Emma had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. Emma loved the Lord, her family, and friends (friends were FAMILY). While residing in Detroit, Michigan, Emma accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Once she relocated, Emma continued her servitude under the leadership of Reverend James Hawkins in Stone Mountain. She later joined Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, GA, in 1997 under the leadership of Reverend Ronald Cook, and later with her beloved Pastor Bill J. Gilbert. She served there as the president of the Mother’s board and Pastor’s Aide. In 2001, after Pastor Gilbert found True Grace Christian Fellowship, she faithfully served there on the Mother’s Ministry, Pastoral Aide Ministry and the Senior Usher’s Ministry. Following Pastor Gilbert’s untimely death in 2020, Emma continued to serve under the leadership of Pastor Theron Bussey, Jr. Emma was preceded in death by her loving parents Julius and Emma, siblings, Virginia Stubbs, Pearl Lewis, Frank Jackson, Eddie Lewis, Christine Jackson, and Evelyn Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory two loving and devoted daughters, Patricia Lewis, Belinda Seats. Five grandchildren, Nikia Washington, Khamara Lewis, Ashley Perkins, DeVante Lewis, and Emily Seats-Jordan. Eleven great-grandchildren, devoted nephews Joel Youngblood (Catherine), Darrin Wright (Veronica). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, bonus sisters and children, as well as her beloved True Grace Church Family.
