Ms Elizabeth Ann Minter

Elizabeth Ann Minter was born on March 17,1965 in Americus, Georgia to the late Mary Dorothy Minter and the late Albert Perry. Ann, as she is called by family members, was raised in Ellaville with eleven other siblings. She graduated with honors from Tri County High School in Buena Vista, Georgia with the Class of 1983. Ann attended Georgia State University as she began working at the Biltmore Hotel, she loved working and her intelligence, lively spirit, polite nature, and desire to help others, didn’t go unnoticed. As she continued to climb the ladder of success, her career in Hospitality Management soared. Ann continued to work and grow and eventually began working on her own as a consultant for various hotel brands, stepping in when her expertise was needed to bring hotels back to their required standards. In 2018, Ann with two of her sisters Odessa and Elsie, successfully opened the Soulful Taste Restaurant in Decatur. After three years the restaurant closed due to COVID but not before Soulful Taste became a well-known establishment in the community. To know Ann is to know that she always greeted you with a kiss on the cheek and a big smile. Ann truly loved spending time with her family and friends and since she traveled so frequently while working, she always tried to make time to see everyone when she was here. Everyone enjoyed having her around because of her beautiful spirit, and she shared her wonderful light with all of us. The love she had for her family and friends was so evident in the way she was always doing for others and checking on her older brothers and sisters. She loved her nieces and nephews and they loved her quick wit and sense of humor as she would sit and talk with them for hours. Ann was also a thoughtful and caring Godmother to three children - Gabrielle, Joshua, and Maya. She was preceded in death by her siblings Roy Minter, Jr. and Victoria Minter-Howard and her niece Kimberly M Raines. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her siblings, Mary Jewel Raines, Stone Mountain, GA; Milton Minter, Riverdale, GA; Catherine Minter, Stone Mountain, GA; Josephine Raines (Remous, Jr.), Decatur, GA; David Minter (Janet), Rex, GA; Viola Minter, Stone Mountain, GA; Odessa Ngoto (Emmanuel), Fairburn, GA; Daniel Minter (Marcia), Portland, MA; Elsie Simmons, Conyers, GA; Lynn Duhart, Atlanta, GA; Freddie B. Perry and Phillip Perry (Mary), Ellaville, GA, and Gwen Sellars-Morgan, Atlanta, GA.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
