Elaine Jefferson

God went into his Garden and picked his beautiful flower on August 25, 2023 Elaine Catharine Harold-Jefferson was born on March 16, 1959, to Russell Harold and the late Regetta “Bootsie” Harold. She was affectionately known to all as “Little Elaine” being named after her aunt. Elaine was born and educated in the Philadelphia, PA public school system. Elaine had many interests but helping people and giving back is what she loved the most in life. This led to her attending Virginia State in Petersburg, VA to pursue a career in nursing. While doing her studies she found enjoyment in working at the local blood banks. Elaine’s entrepreneurial ambitions coupled with her serving spirit led her to invest in her community. She opened many businesses in her neighborhood including dog sitting, bookkeeping, a pretzel and water ice store, and a car detailing business. She excelled in each of her endeavors while at the same time being an excellent mother and wife. She worked at Presbyterian Hospital and Mercy Hospital, both located in Philadelphia, as a Drug and Alcohol Administrator. Through her Aunt Dee Dee, who preceded her in death, Elaine was introduced to the world of theater. As a result, she enrolled in the Freedom Theater educational program where she studied dance & drama. She was successful in her studies landing her in exciting roles on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). Elaine made appearances as an extra on the drama Greenleaf for several seasons and the soap opera Ambition. Out of it all, she felt her greatest accomplishment was being a mother to her children, a grandmother to her only grandson, and a wife to the love of her life, her husband Steve. Elaine accepted Christ at a young age. She became a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Philadelphia. She later joined Sharon Baptist Church in Philadelphia, where she was a devoted teacher and member of the Prayer Ministry. In 2012 Elaine and Steve relocated to Georgia. There Elaine joined the House of Hope in Atlanta, GA and continued to serve in the Prayer Ministry as well as The Plug-in Ministry. Elaine believed in the power of prayer and loved God and her church family. Elaine remained faithful to God until the end. Elaine loved people and touched lives wherever she went. She served her community well allowing her caring personality to be felt by her neighbors. Elaine loved her family members fiercely. She would not only tell them with words, but made sure they felt her love through her actions. Elaine will be missed, she leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband Steve, her children Isaiah, Monica and Cameron, her only grandson Kairo, her father Russell, her mother Regetta “Bootsie” Harold and her other mother Evelyn “Tee” Harold (both who preceded her in death), step father Bruce Clark, her siblings Dwayne and Ali (preceded her in death) one sister Jeanette Parker, her brothers Russel Jr. Lonnie, 3 brother-in-Laws Gary, Kenny John. Her aunts Elaine and Traci. her God children along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and all those she touched. Elaine, we love you, Rest in God’s arms.
