Eddie Milton Nash Jr passed away peacefully at home on 03/19/2026, surrounded by love. Eddie was born on March 29, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois to Ed Nash and Audrey Patterson Nash. He grew up in the Chicagoland area and went to Waukegan High School. Growing up as the second eldest of nine children, Eddie learned early the values of responsibility, love, and family. These qualities shaped the devoted husband, father, and friend he became. Eddie embraced many roles throughout his life, but none were more important to him than being a devoted father to his daughters and big brother to his sisters. Eddie naturally stepped into the role of guardian, offering guidance, protection, and support. Eddie began working at a young age which allowed him to gain the skills and knowledge to be successful in life. He began working as a Food Service Director at Federal Life Insurance Company under Aramark Food Service in 1983 and was with them for 30 years. In 2013 his role changed to working solely under Federal Life Insurance Company until his retirement in 2023. His colleagues and bosses weren’t just people he worked with they were his extended family. He was known for his dedication, kindness, and humor. In his free time, Eddie found joy in the simple pleasures-bowling, cooking meals for those he loved, watching sports, his favorite British shows, listening to a variety of music and spending time surrounded by family and friends. These moments filled with laughter and togetherness allowed him to be himself and live life to the fullest. Eddie met the love of his life Teresa at the young age of 13. They lost contact before reconnecting a few years later living in the same neighborhood where they began their courtship. 3 years into their relationship they had their daughter in 1977. Though life took them on different paths, their bond never faded. In 1996, they found their way back to one another, continuing their journey together and building a life rooted in love, resilience, and family. Above all, Eddie was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was adored and loved by many and affectionally known as the favorite uncle of the family. He treasured all his family and built a legacy of love, guidance and unwavering support that will remain with them forever. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Milton Nash Sr. and Audrey P Nash; his brother Kurt Benard; and his beloved grandson, Rylee. He is survived by his wife Teresa, daughters Shontavia Flores (Delano), Keyra, and Gina. His four sisters Valerie, Veronica Sanchez (Angel), Victoria & Valiza. Three brothers Sidney, Richard & Kurt. His brother-in-law Jimmy (who was more like a brother). His father-in-law Eddie (whom he affectionally called Dad). 9 grandchildren Arianna, Kashawn, Imani, KJ, Quami, Quran, Quira (Cutie), Ke’Mari, Khaled. 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
