Earnest Lee Snead

Earnest Lee Snead began his earthly journey on September 12, 1946 in Leslie, Georgia. He was born to the late Mr. Garner Snead and the late Mrs. Louella Snead. He was one of 9 children born to this union. Earnest attended Lee County High School in Leesburg, Georgia. Earnest was a quiet and observant child. His early life consisted of school and the various activities of farm life. As a young man, Earnest followed in the footsteps of his older brother, Junior, and moved to Atlanta seeking personal growth and employment opportunities. He held many different jobs until he found his dream job. He was hired by Ford Motor Company in 1968 and continued working there until retiring after 38 years of service. Earnest had an unshakable work ethic. He was the kind of person who showed up an hour early for every shift and believed the only real excuse to miss work was a hospital stay. He modeled that same work ethic in every facet of his life. After moving to Atlanta, he met and fell in love with Forrestine Tate. To this union, a loving family of 5 daughters was formed-Maria, Felecia, Sebrina, Earnestine and Carmen. Earnest took his responsibility as a husband and father seriously. Providing for his family was always a top priority. Never one to sit still for long, after retirement Earnest started his own home renovation business. He helped bring people’s visions for their homes to life—doing much of the work himself. For 78 years, Earnest lived a life of love and service to his family and friends. Some of his favorite pastimes were gardening and watching westerns and cartoons. In his later years, he enjoyed hanging out with his canine pal, Rocky. Earnest departed this life and made his final journey home on May 26, 2025. He joins in death his wife, Forrestine Snead; his parents, Garner and Louella Snead; his brothers, Tommy Snead and Garner Snead Jr; his sisters, Mary Snead and Katie Mae Farrior; Here to honor and cherish Earnest’s life: his daughters, Maria Williamson, Sebrina(Ernest), Snead-Jones, Earnestine Snead and Carmen Snead; 18 grandchildren, Jarvis Cullars, Tiffany Williams, Whitney Cullars, Dionte Snead, Kirsten McDonald, Alexis Snead, Karrington Jones, Tityonna Snead, Mackenzie Jones, Jordan McDonald, Deja Stafford, David Stafford, Trinity Jones, Zachary Hatton, Damon Snead, Christian Snead, Ethan Jones and Juwon Snead; 5 great grandchildren, Devon Williamson, Omari Williamson, Messiah Williamson, Na’Zariah Godfrey and Ny’Zir Godfrey; 4 devoted siblings, Mamie (Deacon Arthur) Robinson, Carrie Snead, Willie (Loretta) Snead, Nancy Clark; His beloved German shepherd Nala aka “Rocky” and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
