Douglas Amos Harden

Douglas Amos Harden, 68, departed this life on May 4, 2026. He was born on July 10, 1957, in Macon, Georgia and later moved to Atlanta with his family when he was a young toddler. He was preceded in death by his devoted mother (Blanche Elizabeth Harden), father (Amos Harden Jr.), his beloved grandmother (Blanche McKissick Sailor), two uncles and their wives (Vernon & Mildred McKissick and James and Patricia Sailor), his Aunt Edna Bowens (JC Bowens), and two nieces (Jessica Harden and Alexis Kee Veal). Douglas was known for his athletic prowess during his teenage years. He was the fastest runner in the Ayrshire Circle Community…no one could beat him in his hay day! During his life he was an extremely industrious worker and a highly creative artist. Among his many employers, he sincerely enjoyed working for the ABC School Supply Company in Atlanta. In addition, he was an impressive landscaper, and he occasionally used his artistic skills to render inspired services for his family, friends, and employers. His enjoyable past time was collecting treasures with a notion to fix them up some day. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Amanda Scofield (Damian), his brothers Keenan, Wendell (Kimberley), and Stanton (Barbara), his grandchildren Jalen Banks, Javian Banks, Kailey Harden, nieces and nephews; Christopher Harden (Heather), DeAndre Harden, KeAnna Harden Olivo (Pedro), Nadia Harden, Brina Harden, a cherished cousin Karen Bowens, his uncles Issac (Geraldine) and Lovette (Virginia), and a host of other family and friends. As we release Douglas to the eternal care of a loving God, we hold fast to the light he brought into our lives—his creativity and the quiet, steadfast way he loved his family and friends. May the memories he leaves behind bloom in our hearts like a work of art that he created with his own hands, reminding us that even in loss, beauty remains. Though he has journeyed beyond our sight, his spirit continues to walk beside us, a cherished presence we will always carry. Services entrusted to Gregory B.
