Donna D. Jennings Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Our Precious Jewel Donna Denise Jennings was born August 17,1955 in Atlanta, GA to the parents of Mildred Harrison and Raymond Gambrell Jr, where she spent her formative years. She catapulted in music as being one of the youngest and first female bassists to sing and play in the quartet gospel arena as principle member of The Harrison Gospel Singers, The Spiritual Horizons, and founder of The Unity Gospel Singers. Her love for God brought her closer to him through her journeyed ministry being first ordained as an Evangelist and Pastor to becoming a Mother of the Church. She traveled the world singing praises and preaching the word of God. Donna, “Niecy” to her family and friends, enjoyed being a mother basking in the times singing and dancing with her family. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Hattie F. Harrison and grandfather, James Harrison, whom she loved dearly. Donna’s legacy lives on through her 4 children: Algebra F. Blessett, Lolita D. Jennings-Flagg, Franchetta D. Jennings-Jones, and Ralph D. Jennings Jr.; 6 grandchildren: Anika Jennings, Truk Jennings, Ethen Flagg, Cooper Flagg, D’Loni Cargill, and Noah Flagg. She is survived by her sisters and brothers: Gwendolyn Harris, Samuel Myrick, Deborah Griffin-Watkins, Nedra Ware, Stanley Gambrell, Tammy Lapread, Rosalind Bankhead, Wanda Clark, Anthony Gambrell, two Son-in-Laws, one Daughter-in-Law and a host of Nieces and Nephews. She attended Berean Academy, William Finch Elementary, and Archie High School. She went on to attend The American School of Chicago, IL then furthering her education by earning an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Massey College in Atlanta, GA in 1995. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Degree from Strayer University in 2004, a Master of Science in Accounting Degree from Strayer University in 2006, and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Strayer University in Washington, DC in 2008. She spent 27 years with Kmart Sears Holding Corporation excelling in her career and being known for her dedication, kindness, and work ethic. Donna D. Jennings, 68, made her decision, obeyed God, and returned home on August 1, 2024. She was a beloved mother, grand-mother, sister, aunt, minister, warrior, and friend who will be forever missed by all who knew and experienced her. Donna D. Jennings never met a stranger. She treated everyone with love and collected family wherever she placed her feet. In her own words, “You can right the wrong, but you can’t wrong the right…show love”.
