Obituary Donna E. Crabb Donna Earlita “Dedah” Crabb, 61, dedicated humanitarian and matriarch, quietly passed away to her heavenly reward, on August 12, 2021 in Conyers, GA. Donna was born to Ruth Ann (Nelson) and Donald Earl Crabb on February 9, 1961 in West Chester, PA. She was raised in Downingtown, PA where she graduated from high school in 1979. After briefly attending Millersville College, she relocated with family to Atlanta, GA where she earned a computer technician degree at Atlanta Technical College. Donna had an illustrious career of 27 years in human resources at Emory University, where she received the highest employee honor, the Award of Distinction, for her vanguard role in developing Emory Temporary Services (ETS). By facilitating temporary-to-permanent roles through ETS for thousands of individuals, she fulfilled her life's ministry resulting in the elevation of the socio-economic standing of families and communities for generations to come. Donna was an avid reader and enjoyed sharing about the many books she'd read. She was an explorer who delighted in travel with family and friends. She was a regular community volunteer and taught the importance of service to the community to her daughter and grandchildren. She was known for her beautiful smile, effervescent personality, limitless generosity and loving spirit. Donna's mantra was that a stranger was just a friend she had not met. Everyone who knew Donna, identified that her greatest joy was being a mother to Jennifer and grandmother or “Dedah” to her grandchildren. They were the beats of her heart and she dedicated her life and time to them. Donna especially took respite in knowing that she could entrust her cherished family to her son-in-law, Mark. She was also like a mother to many, showering her love, wisdom and graciousness, expressly with her sister’s children. Baptized at St.Paul's Baptist Church in West Chester, PA as a child, Donna's love for Christ was ever-present in the way she made others feel. She saw the positivity and good in every situation and person, no matter their mistakes, decisions or circumstances. She will be sorely missed. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents James and L. Helen Nelson, David and Laura Crabb and a cherished niece Erika Crabb Weber. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her daughter Jennifer Crabb Kyles, son in law Mark Kyles, Jr., granddaughters Jasmine Bankston, Jada Bankston, Morgan Kyles and grandson Mitchell Kyles; siblings Eric Crabb, Bruce Crabb, Sr., Melanie Crabb Murphy; nieces Tara Moulder, Deidre Murphy, Kim Forts, Terri Patton, and Victoria Crabb; nephews Derrick Murphy, Jr. and Bruce Crabb, Jr., as well as, a host of beloved cousins, extended family and friends. The family extends our sincerest gratitude for the outpouring of love from friends, family and colleagues during our time of bereavement. We give special gratitude to Manchester Court Assisted Living and Memory Care for so lovingly caring for our Donna.
