Mr. Don Juan Pickett

Mr. Don Juan Pickett, 65, of Decatur, Georgia passed Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Don Juan Pickett was born on September 25, 1955, to the late Emmett J. Sr. and Juanita M. Pickett. Don was born and raised in St. Louis Missouri, where he received Christ at an early age. He attended St. Louis Public Schools and graduated from Soldan High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force where he served for several years. He was affectionately known among family and friends as “Donnie”. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and a kind and generous brother and friend. We will always remember him for his mellow singing voice, his wonderful smile, along with his caring and generous spirit which will be embedded in our hearts forever. After serving in the military Don moved to Denver, Colorado where he met the beautiful Addie Mycine Brown and later moved to Mycine’s hometown (Atlanta) where they became united in holy matrimony. They were married for 30 years and shared a blended family of three children. After a brief illness, Don made his transition on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Don was one of seven siblings. His brother, Wayne Pickett proceeded him in death. Don leaves to rejoice in his loving memory his devoted and loving wife, Mycine, his daughter, Dawnjuan Cage (Anthony) and his two grandchildren, Haley, and Harper. Seketha (Trice) Brown, Herman Brown Jr. (Nina), Jasmine, Xavier, and Ashlynn. Cherishing his memories are his lovely sisters Gloria Alford and Sandra Williams (Robert), a niece/sister Nicole Lester (Rodrick); three wonderful brothers Guy (Debra) Emmett Jr. (Brenda) and Rodney (Kristina), nine sister-in laws, eight brother in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Don will truly be missed by those who affectionately knew and loved him. Though hearts may be heavy, many will find comfort in knowing he is at rest now with no more pain and suffering. A Memorial Celebration of Life for Mr. Pickett will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Gregory B. Levett and Sons Funeral Home. The Service will be Live Streamed.
